We traveled on the MSC... by brenaboo

Sail date: /
Ship: MSC Divina

We traveled on the MSC Divina last week (7/22-29) and found it to be ok. We had been on 2 previous Carnival cruises and loved them. It was a big disappointment to learn the first night that there are No comedians on board. They said because of the 6 different languages spoken it would be too difficult, but everything is posted around the ship on English and people understand it.?? All announcements are made in these 6 languages so get ready to spend time listening to them all. Bingo cost $40 to play a line and a coverall. Food is same on the buffet all the time. For something different you have to go to the blue crab for lunch. Dinner was ok, not great. shout out to our servers, Nelvis and Piety they were awesome!! 4 d theater was good bit cost $8.00 to do. Formula car was $10.00 and bowling is $8.00. We didn't get pictures because they are $25-35 each, (but you get 10% off of 10,) still heard most people say they spent over $300 for pictures. Eric the cruise director is dumb. We wrote funny things to his mailbox for the morning show all week to keep ourselves entertained. won his trivia 5 times between us. Ship was very boring, beautiful though, but not activities, they suck!! Ports were nice, St. Maarten, San Juan and Nassau. In St Maarten, we went to the first water taxi stop and found a tour guy named Chico (bobbys marina) who was amazing and took us around the whole island for $40 each!! air conditioned van and many stops almost 4 hours. wherever we wanted to go. I highly recommend him!!! We always have a good time on a cruise no matter what, so that is why we gave them a 3 star rating, but would we go on MSC again. No never! Carnival here we come again!!!

Ship is beautiful. Very elegant.... by sellj75

Sail date: /
Ship: MSC Divina

Ship is beautiful. Very elegant. Food is good. However, activities are almost non existent. The teens had stuff to do but most of us were bored on sea days. Every pool is always overcrowded unless you get there by 7 am. At 10 all the pools and hot tubs close, even the adult only. The service was mediocre to say the least. Our head waiter was OK. His assistant never refilled our water. One meal we had nothing to drink by the time we got our food and still nothing when we were done. The cabins weren't cleaned very well. One of the people in our group found a half drank water bottle when we checked in. We ran out of toilet paper and they didn't bring more. I actually had to chase them down the hall to get some. There were some good things. They weren't on the overhead trying to sell. Us something constantly. On the other hand they never said what all was going on except when we docked or an occasional something special. I have been on several carnival cruises and will definitely be travelling carnival again in the future.

Family Cruise on MSC Divina by rayca1954

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We had a great time on the cruise. The one negative was when my daughter, who purchased the photo package with 100 photos, found a misplaced photo and asked to exchange it for one that she had in her package and was told...NO!! I couldn't believe it. I forgot the name of the belligerent jerk that gave her a hard time! I would have given the total experience on the cruise 5 stars if it weren't for that incident.

Overall I personally think MSC... by Jackwatters

Sail date: /
Ship: MSC Divina

Overall I personally think MSC are the best value cruise line sailing out of Miami and property the whole of Florida for that matter, yes there is certain areas where the could improve on but that's just like all cruise lines these days. Boarding did take longer than expected but wasn't as bad as Carnival, food was average (DONT GO TO THE MDR's. The food simple isn't worth the wait) Entertainment is very European so a lot of live bands and quizzes but the ship sorta dies out after 11pm unless you go to the disco. Staff were okay to say the least but they get the job done at the end of the day. Ship overall was ALWAYS very clean and staterooms are the best at sea, beds are very soft as well as the pillows, large floor to roof mirrors and balcony window and doesn't feel tacky like Carnivals staterooms with the colours going well together. I say give MSC a try it's pretty reasonable for what you pay, but don't expect Cunard luxury or service.

ATTENTION! All of the negative... by sirrroyston

Sail date: /
Ship: MSC Divina

ATTENTION! All of the negative reviews are, I think down to the package you choose. Do not be put off by the Awesome MSC Divina! Just remember this one thing. THERE ARE 4300 OTHER PASSENGERS THINKING EXACTLY LIKE YOU!! So be nice, there is no need for rudeness... And I found that from, not the Europeans as expected but the Americans! If anything, skimp on the room, do you really need a balcony for a week? Or is that just to impress your social media viewers? Ok, we had a balcony (family of 4) but I have sailed on an inside before and for a week I think it's fine. Any more than a week I like a little light. But this is the room & package I received from my vacation organiser. I don't use a high street retailer. Package: Go for the Aurea Experience or above. Screw the type of room. Aurea, you are not fighting for a sun lounger on sea days. You have a private area on deck 18 I think, it is mid ship above the slide. It's extra for non Aurea passengers. Full drinks package, including the speciality coffees. A free massage for everyone in the room (we did a back to back cruise so got a free massage on both weeks ) On tendering days you get priority tickets to get off first which is helpful if you have private tour bookings. Dining: Yes breakfast is a bit chaotic as everyone is wanting breakfast so they can all disembark asap. Dining hall: we chose anytime dining and never had to wait more than 4-6 mins to be seated. We had the same waitress and front of house staff from just after the 3rd night. The waitress was just amazing. Alicia from Jamaica. That girl earns her money. We didn't bother with the other specialty restaurants... We had it in our heads to try a few on the nights we got the kids to goto the buffet but to be absolutely honest the service we got in the main dining hall we just loved it. Entertainment: If you have read other reviews, the MJ show is amazing but I'm a MJ fan and the dude can dance. The pirate show was fantastic also. Queen was poor. I'm also a Queen and Freddie fan. The rest of the shows are great and worth going. The night club on the top deck was fun. We are 41 & 46yrs ( I am the toy boy ;p) Few cocktails and prosecco and we were trying to salsa. I don't do that kind of thing at home bcos I think I'm too old to be jumping around like I did in my 20s but it was great fun to go do it. My mate was on the ship the week before me, his first cruise, basic package and hated the sea days as it was packed. Billing: Register a credit card. it's so much easier. Go down to the desk on the second day and ask for the tips/gratuities to be removed, there is zero problems with that. Internet package is reasonable. I had it for the duration. @$101 for the 2 weeks. The only problem we had was a trip, booked online with the MSC before departure. The trip was rushed, delayed, etc. I was a little disappointed so I mentioned it to the cruise excursion guy and we were awarded 10% discount. One last thing. The only place, if you are into it, If you want your passport stamped, Puerto Rico, you need to get it done in the morning. They close the office at 1400 hrs. Everywhere else was fine I heard. As we forgot to do it in Jamaica and Grand Cayman. I would have no hesitation in booking again with MSC. Being my 10th cruise I still think Royal Caribbean are the worst customer service wise. But, everyone will have their own views on each company. Personally I still like Norwegian as a whole but MSC Divina is a very close 2nd. Other than that, Enjoy your cruise! And remember, it is what you make it! Arrivederci🚢

Really great cruise!!! by Arielle200

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Western

It was my first cruise with MSC and I can highly recommend this cruise line. The ship was well maintained, the food was delicious and the crew was always very friendly, helpful and above all motivated. What you can not say of all cruise companies. Also the trips we had booked were interesting and well organized. I would love to go again with MSC!

I had a blast by jttv102007

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

I had a great time, but there were definitely a few things that could be better. Outdoor adult bar and pool open later and have more music...maybe even live music, along with not packing up lounge chairs so early. It would have been nice to have access to coffee earlier...I got up about 5:30 a.m. and wanted fresh hot coffee. Sit down dinner food not the greatest and buffet could have been open later. It also seemed that the casino closed rather early too. About the only thing to do late is the disco....and I'm too old for clubs. I also had to wait quite some time for drinks on occasion. Definitely could have used more bartenders. All in all, I had an amazing time though. These were all minor things that did not ruin my trip. Your staff is excellent!!

Great time!! Michael Jackson show... by katsan58

Sail date: /
Ship: MSC Divina

Great time!! Michael Jackson show was fantastic!! Would be great if all inclusive for each tier. Also didn't particularly like dining time, others in our party had anytime dining so that was kind of bad BUT food was great! Buffet was very good. Drinks were great. Beautiful ship, nice staff, great family time. Thank you MSC!

Hit and Miss - 3 night Bahamas by johncduff

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

For experienced cruisers, I don't think this cruise meets expected level of satisfaction. Only thing that might attract you is the price, which is very competitive, especially with kids under 12 cruising free. Expect some hiccups. The passenger to crew ratio is more than 3 to 1, which is a warning sign of what to expect. NCL or Royal Caribbean will be my next venture, during the winter when there are less kids and less humidity.

Birthday Cruise! by balconyfor3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I really enjoy my cruise, everything went well, if I have to say what I enjoyed less,:chaos at the buffet and had to find a chair outside on deck, because everybody réserve chairs but don't really use them. But it's only minor things, would love to go back again!

This ship was breathtaking. Absolutely... by Pelham26

Sail date: /
Ship: MSC Divina

This ship was breathtaking. Absolutely beautiful from the crystal staircases to the details in decor across the entire ship. We loved the ship but didn’t like some things. The crew was nice for the most part. The food was alright. Definitely not as good as the other cruises ive been on. They really lack good entertainment as well. None of this would stop us from cruising again since you honestly cant beat their prices.

Good, almost great by DianeQc

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Many negative little things but a lot more positive. I would sail with MSC again. I guess you get what you pay for. I have traveled with Princess Cruise, Norwegian Cruise and Royal Caribean and they were all better in some ways. Because I am able to compare, I can say that it was good almost great. I rate this cruise from 4 to 4.5 stars.

MSC Divina Yacht Club by ffolson

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

MSC has done something really special with their YC; the suites and public spaces throughout the “ship within a ship” are top notch and are the perfect spots to relax on the waves of the Caribbean. While the rest of the ship is bustling with entertainment and activity to which YC passengers are able to enjoy, having the Top Sail lounge available to come back to at any time was absolutely priceless. With our cruise taking place in the last week of June, we were sailing with a full passenger manifest. And I think everyone who was not in the YC was at the pool everyday – IT WAS PACKED! But, the YC pool area was tranquil and serene with two hot tubs available and a salt water pool available for YC passengers to enjoy. My wife and I are both Trekkies, and the Top Sail Lounge was our very own “Ten Forward” lounge from Captain Picard’s USS Enterprise (NCC 1701-D). It was perched atop deck 16 forward and offered the perfect vantage point to enjoy a Miami Vice frozen drink, or a cup of the best chocolate mousse I’ve ever tasted.

Just got home today and... by lopezpr3

Sail date: /
Ship: MSC Divina

Just got home today and I'm already missing it! The Divina was great. My family of 4 had the most amazing time. My girls (8 & 10) did not want to leave. We mostly loved the diversity on the ship and we got to meet wonderful people from different countries. The crew was extremely accommodating and kind. Take the time to speak to them...they work so hard and do their best to make your cruise experience a memorable one. The night entertainment shows were outstanding. Very talented team. I absolutely loved the Pirate and Michael Jackson shows! I cannot understand how people complain about the food. So many choices to choose from and very tasty. The pizza is delicious! The Buffett has options for everyone and the dinners were outstanding as well. You can ask for as many plates as you like. We visited the Sports Bar one day for lunch and the wings were very good! Try the gelato passion fruit...it was our favorite! The cabin was very comfortable and it was cleaned constantly throughout the day. The ship is BEAUTIFUL and very CLEAN! You see crew members constantly cleaning. If you're cruising Divina hope you have as much fun as we did!

First time traveling with my adult children and we all loved the cruise. We were disappointed that the pools only stayed open until 8 though. Hot tubs were plentiful but only stayed open until 10. The food was awesome!
