MSC has done something really special with their YC; the suites and public spaces throughout the “ship within a ship” are top notch and are the perfect spots to relax on the waves of the Caribbean. While the rest of the ship is bustling with entertainment and activity to which YC passengers are able to enjoy, having the Top Sail lounge available to come back to at any time was absolutely priceless. With our cruise taking place in the last week of June, we were sailing with a full passenger manifest. And I think everyone who was not in the YC was at the pool everyday – IT WAS PACKED! But, the YC pool area was tranquil and serene with two hot tubs available and a salt water pool available for YC passengers to enjoy. My wife and I are both Trekkies, and the Top Sail Lounge was our very own “Ten Forward” lounge from Captain Picard’s USS Enterprise (NCC 1701-D). It was perched atop deck 16 forward and offered the perfect vantage point to enjoy a Miami Vice frozen drink, or a cup of the best chocolate mousse I’ve ever tasted.
Embarkation

The check-in process for Yacht Club passengers is smooth and considerably less painless than for other passengers. When we arrived at the port facility, an MSC shoreside “butler” escorted my family and I, along with several other Yacht Club passengers through security and up to the “Embarkation Lounge” (as the sign over the door read) where we had access to an open bar serving champagne, wine, other spirits and non-alcoholic beverages. We were invited to take a seat while we waited for our cruise documents to be processed and our cruise cards to be printed. Once that was completed, we were escorted onto the ship where another butler took us up to the Top Sail Lounge where we met our butler, who soon took us up to our suite for the week aboard the Divina. Extremely painless.

Food and Dining

We ate every meal at the YC Le Muse restaurant located on deck 15 aft. I didn’t mind the walk to the rear of the ship from the YC main area of the ship because it gave me an opportunity to see parts of the ship I probably would not have seen had it been positioned forward – as it will be on the Seaside. Any and everything was available for breakfast; lunch usually included burgers, Philly cheesesteak sandwiches, or an assortment of lighter lunch options. And dinner was usually a three or four course meal with steak or chicken (always on the menu) to lobster tails, swordfish, and other options – all prepared very well for my tastes. Although the steaks could have been seasoned with a little more salt; but to each his own.

The Royal Suite and all the amenities were all fantastic. It was not as large as a typical Royal Suite aboard many of the other popular cruise lines, but it had plenty of space for our family of four to spread out and store luggage. When we unpacked and put our luggage away, we didn't see either of our three suitcases again until we needed them to re-pack for our return trip home. The suite had a separate seating area with sofa, and love seat, two flat screen TVs, a master bedroom and one bathroom.
Ship tip
When choosing an MSC Cruise, I'd recommend to anyone to spend a little more for the Yacht Club experience. MSC has made this upscale cruising experience very affordable and it is well worth the price of admission.
We cruised the private yacht club on msc seaside and it was nice. The g
