Weekend getaway by jimhatgse

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Divina

There are a lot of hidden cost on the MSC that are not explained, The drink packages are not included in the dining packages, they charge $5.50 per bottle of water if you just ask for water that’s what you get, they don’t tell you that until they give you the bill, The crew were outstanding they were super nice, the ship was as clean as I’ve ever seen a cruise ship

So much better than any Carnival! by MommaCat43

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: MSC Divina

Weather was perfect. The absolute definition of smooth sailing. Staff was pleasant, helpful, and gracious. I’m very impressed with my first experience on an MSC boat. Boarding was very slow. All else was far superior to any Carnival I’ve taken.

amazing cruise by janieyelton1954

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Divina

Went on this cruise to celebrate out 50th wedding anniversary. While coming back, my 8 year old adopted son saw a small boat in distress and wanted the boat to turn around and go help them. He felt better later when they announced they had sent a boat to help them.

Pretty Good Cruise MSC Divina by jonkatfla

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Enjoyed our first MSC and back-to-back. The Yacht Club was a wonderful experience. Enjoyed everyone who was a staff member. Food in Muse was not our favorite. Just over 100 days until our next cruise on Disney Wish.

Probably wouldn't cruise this ship and possibly MSC again. by Lovcrzn

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Overall, for the size of the ship this was disappoointing because of the lack of things to do. We scoured the daily program every day but didn't find things of interest. So we changed our expectations for the cruise and turned it into a rest and relaxation cruise. We enjoyed resting in our cabin and sitting on the balcony. The crew's friendliness and attention to our needs was the best thing about the cruise. We won't sail Divina again and are unlikely to sail MSC again.

It was ok 👌 by CruisingPisces

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Divina

Highs and Lows of the MSC Divina. Positives + Yahct Club service was exceptional. Easy Embarkation and Disembarkation. Staff was amazing. Private Island was stunning and the Ocean House had the best food of the entire cruise. Parties were fun although a little tame compared to other parties on other cruises. Lots to do. Amazing prices in the duty free shops. Clean ship. The Casino did not wreak of smoke which was very nice. We had issues guest service resolved them, but not without asking to speak to the manager 😅. Negatives - The ship feels disjointed being an old cargo ship, you have to go up one floor and down another to get wherever you want to go. The decor is definitely dated, including the monitor size TV's in the room. The buffet had the same thing every day and the choices were limited. Food overall was just ok. Pool bar staff was incompetent, drinks were either watered down or not made right. The Yacht Club room that we had was the same size as the regular balcony but with amenities. The thermal spa was an embarrassment only about 15 people can use it a time. The entertainment was the same thing every night different songs with the same dance moves. The comedian should have stayed home 🤣. Few other things This cruise had about 2700 people the most the Divina had since the restart so the staff was overwhelmed and unprepared which caused lots hiccups. Overall we had a great time and will cruise MSC again just nothing older than the Grandiosa.

pool drinks by SSGrant

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: MSC Divina

Our group had great time. Food wasn't as bad as reviews I had read but I am not a food snob. I still find it odd that no drinks while sitting in pool even though in plastic cups. We had about 2600 guest which way better that last one that didn't even have 500.

Our first Msc cruise! by Brian0703

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Divina

Alright quick review: This is only our 2nd cruise ever and 1st with MSC. My wife and I work with the public so we understand the business of great customer service. We also appreciate what these men and women deal with daily. I will forever label this as the hidden gem of the Caribbean cruises for couples or solos. No kids.

Didn't get handicap cabin I paid for by Rheebok

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Since no representative of MSC Cruises can be bothered to speak with me ... This is a photo of the physical toll a 4-day sailing on the Davina takes when customer service refuses to accommodate handicapped passengers and instead insults and shames and derides them. I had booked a handicap cabin, on the very back of the boat. I did the research and based on the pictures; it was large enough that there was enough room for all my assistance stuff. I checked cabin dimensions, I scoured the internet for photos, I choose cabin 8271 because it had more square footage than the other wheelchair accessible cabins, both in the cabin and the deck. It also, according to the photos I found, had more space in the bathroom so I could bring safety rails for the commode area. Because my email was deluged with "upgrade your cabin" offers, I called MSC almost daily to make sure the cabin had not been changed. The day before we sailed, I checked and was assured no changes had been made to our reservation. I was looking forward to the cruise. So, May 22, 2022. Get to Port Canaveral @ 11am, the assigned boarding time. Passports, ID, vaccination cards, negative Covid 19 test results in hand. Had all the required paperwork. Check in, no problems, board the ship, I'm greeted and told "oh, we have given you a cabin upgrade! NO! I don't want an upgrade! I want the cabin I booked and paid for! I want cabin 8271! "Oh, well, the new cabin is 12153. It is a wheelchair accessible cabin on a higher deck. It is the same category as the cabin you booked. Look at cabin 12153 and if it is not acceptable, we will correct it. Went to cabin 12153. Yes, my wheelchair did fit through the door. And that is where the similarities ended. The cabin was 2/3 of the square footage of the cabin I had booked. The balcony was 1/3 of the size of the balcony I had booked. I could get the wheelchair to the door and close to the deck via a small ramp but that was it. I had no room to turn, no room (because of the ramp) to actually go on the balcony. All I could do was look out from the door to the balcony. Why did I pay for a balcony cabin if I was restricted from going on the balcony? I could roll into the bathroom, but unlike the bathroom in the cabin I had booked (based on customer photos from a review site) would not be able to use the commode. There was no space in my "upgraded" cabin for the push bar that help facilitate transferring. And you know those wide SLIPPERY all mounted bars they claim meet the ADA laws? I can't get any kind of leverage with those, and the height is all wrong. I can't use them to lift myself. And the bed was very high, I wouldn't be able to even transfer to the bed. The cabin was not satisfactory so I phoned reception/customer service to tell them. But the customer service person (her name was Anna) was like "oh no, it's a wheelchair accessible cabin, it has a wheelchair accessible deck, it is on a higher deck, closer to midship, you should be very pleased! We've given you a wonderful upgrade!" No, you haven't. This cabin is going to be nothing but a hardship for me with my disability. Wheelchair accessible is not the same as handicapped accessible. I filled out MSC cruises required disability paperwork. The cruise line has documentation of what I required. "I'm sorry it's not acceptable ma'am, let me speak with my supervisor, I will call you right back. ... 5 minutes, "I'm sorry ma'am, there is nothing available" Anna, why were we INVOLUNTARILY upgraded? Why did I not get cabin 8271, the cabin I had booked and paid for? "ma'am, I will check with my supervisor and call you right back" ... 8 minutes, "ma'am, the cabin you are in, 12153, is all we have available." Anna, it is unacceptable, it is too small, all my movement is restricted. "Ma'am, I do not see the issue. You should be grateful that we upgraded you to a wheelchair accessible cabin, I don't see the problem." I admit I did not react well to that statement. I was stunned that this person was trying to make me feel guilty for being disabled. So I asked her, "Why should I be grateful that the cabin I have been upgraded to is INFERIOR to the cabin I booked and paid for? Why was I switched from cabin 8271? "ma'am, we don't have a cabin # 8271 on this ship" This was the moment the rudeness and her apparent disdain became apparent to me. I said, ok Anna, I will come down to reception, in my wheelchair, in front of other guests, and show you my confirmation paperwork listing cabin 8271 and we will discuss this. My husband intervenes. "I'll go". And he goes. About 15 minutes later he comes back. did you talk to that rude person Anna? "No. She started to come over but her supervisor stopped her and told her to leave and he would handle it, so I talked to him." ... AND? "and, there is nothing he can do. Since there are only 960 passengers on the ship, they have closed some decks for "covid cleaning", we will have to deal with it. So this picture is what 4 days of dealing with" an extremely (but definitely following the ADA laws) UN handicap accessible cabin does to me physically. And this is just an area I could take a photo of, I'm not flexible enough to photograph my back. Since MSC representatives can not, apparently, be bothered to speak with me (not on the phone, not by email, not in any way) I am just going to post this review (and photo) non every review site I can access. Was the cruise fun. Sure, it was a cruise. Bar staff was great, housekeeping staff was great. Food was ok, drinks were ok, private island was ok. MSC customer service, at least the on-board staff, is terrible and discriminatory.

Very disappointing and humiliating experience by 198Harper

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

After cruising multiple times, my crew decided to try MSC since it’s new to our port. We were excited for the new experience and also for the reviews of low numbers of people cruising, thinking that this was going to be amazing for service, wait times etc. We were wrong- here’s a long list why.. -Most areas closed, coffee bar, beaches, shops, some bar areas -Limited options, beers, liquors, foods -Very disgusting customer service, constantly being met with answers “we don’t have that” “can’t make that for you” or just plain “no”… with no solutions / alternatives, would just stare at you awkwardly, no apologies. -Crew, not very helpful, rude, tired, careless -Had to ask for things like toilet paper, a blanket for 2nd bed, HAND SOAP, in our rooms -Constantly being harassed to buy something. Just sit down for breakfast 6:50am, being sold a cup, a book, expensive dinners, just trying to enjoy views and coffee. -Costly, everything had a price tag, shrimp cocktail at dinner $5 for 5 small shrimps, $10 for steak, $25 for surf and turf, not impressive, $8 bowling for five frames, biggest let down CHARGE FOR ICE CREAM! No free soft serve on this boat… - Very limited dinner menu, cramped in a dining room, kept trying to seat us at a small table we couldn’t even enjoy dinner at, ended up at the buffet most nights. *****But by far worst experience was first services***** Unfortunately unplanned happening of female time of the month happened, and when calling asking if there was anyway to get products, since we were at their island and they sold nothing in the shops, they left me with a solid “no” stating that having a period was my choice… when my husband went down to the guest services to speak with anyone he could to get the shop opened to purchase anything on the ship (while I was stranded in the room), he walked up on them laughing and talking very rudely about me calling and asking. It was the most humiliating and awful experience. Guest services and medical staff did not ever assist me, it was actually a bartender that overheard my husband that ran to her personal room and gave me some of her products. Grateful for her, but disgusted with MSC services.
