I only wish our cruise had been longer. We loved it!
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Embarkation was very well organized. From the time we entered it was less than 25 minutes before we were standing on the ship!
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
We ate in the buffet a few times for breakfast and lunch. There was a nice variety of options and the quality was good for a buffet. We had dinner in the Black Crab main dining every night. Everything we had there was delicious. We didn't do any specialty dining, but did buy some Gelato one night. I had the Cacao and my husband had the marscapone. Both were really good! On Ocean Cay we went to the food truck. I had a lobster roll and my husband had the Octopus salad. Both were good, but I didn't feel like they were worth spending the extra money.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
We participated in several activities on board, trivia, dance lessons, white party, karaoke. The crew did a great job of making these fun and inclusive. I heard that there was bowling, but we never found time to try it out!
Entertainment
5 out of 5
We went to a few shows in the theatre, Dancing Queen, Autumn in Paris, and Top of the Rock. All were good, I definitely enjoyed Autumn in Paris the most! I know there were comedians and magicians as well but we did not attend those. We listened to several musicians throughout the cruise and enjoyed them all. My favorite was the couple who performed CCR songs.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
We recieved amazing service throughout the cruise. Our room steward, Darwin, did a great job of keeping our room tidy and stocked with fresh towels. We did miss having towel animals in our room though. Our waiter, Cresanto, and assistant waiter, Ricardo, took great care of us in the main dining every night. Riccardo knew our drink orders after the second night. When sitting on the deck, we never waited long for someone to come by and ask if we wanted drinks. Everyone we passed throughout the ship greeted us. We felt very welcome and loved the crew!
We were not expecting to enjoy Nassau based on reviews we read. I'm happy to say our experience in Nassau was nothing like those stories. When we got off the ship we were offered taxi's. We politely said no and were left alone each time. We went to the straw market and no one was pushy or rude. They did offer to sale us whatever they were offering but again when we said no they didn't push. We did buy a few things in the market and all the people we dealt with were very nice. We walked to McKenzies for lunch. I cannot reccomend this restaurant highly enough. It is on the pier and we sat at a table by a door that literally opened to the water. We tried the tropical conch salad, conch fritters, and conch burger. All were good. The fritters and burger were my favorites. When we left the restaurant we were offered taxi's by a couple people and politely declined. After looking around a bit we decided we did want to take a taxi back so we went to the guy who had first offered and asked his price. He was a great driver, opened the door for me, told us a little about Nassau as we rode back. Everyone we encountered was very nice and we would definitely return to Nassau.
We loved Ocean Cay. We went snorkeling on South Beach. Unfortunately we didn't see much except some tiny fish. The beaches are beautiful. There are lots of plants with colorful flowers and shady spots to enjoy the views. The lighthouse is gorgeous. There was transportation to take you around although the island isn't very large so walking is definitely doable. There were shopping opportunities, plenty of beaches and bars. My only complaint would be how early they packed up the lunch. We had an overnight here so all aboard wasn't until 11:30 pm the first day. The food was gone by 1:00 though so you had to go back to the ship. Otherwise we loved it.
We boarded the ship here. The port in very well organized. It was easy to find the right terminal. We didn't do any excursions, but if we had time I would love to check out the space coast.
