Review summary

Alright quick review: This is only our 2nd cruise ever and 1st with MSC. My wife and I work with the public so we understand the business of great customer service. We also appreciate what these men and women deal with daily. I will forever label this as the hidden gem of the Caribbean cruises for couples or solos. No kids.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
I dont know if it was due to covid or MSC in general but the embarkation process was so organized and quick. We were in the first group to embark and from the time we entered till the time we got on the ship, it was less than 20 minutes. They had it set up like a production line. One person, checks to make sure you're supposed to be there, another passes you through security, one person checks your Vax stuff, and then to the counter for you cruise card. No crowds, no confusion. It was amazing.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
So as with many other reviews I have to agree that though the food was good, the options seemed limited. I'm sure it has to do with supply issues or something. I'm not faulting MSC at all. That's just the way things are now. But I would be lying if I said I wasn't slightly disappointed by the lack of high end foods on this high end ship. That being said what we DID get was very good. And there were some things that I would/could never eat on a normal basis that I utterly enjoyed onboard. So it wasn't a boring food experience but not top tier either.

Onboard Activities

We didn't do much. Got in the infinite pool one day. Beware of the surface around it. Burns your feet. For some reason they didnt put normal flooring there, just some sort of tile. Very heat absorbing.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
I won't say it was the greatest shows on a ship. But they were entertaining and fun.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone was amazing. Helpful and seemed genuinely interested in helping in whatever way they could. Even when I had to go down the night before disembarkation to get a new keycard. (tip, when taking your luggage out to the hallway, don't let the door close behind you.)

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
First time on a ship this size so it took me awhile to adjust to the layout completely. But all the main areas I needed to get to were easily navigated. Ship was very clean. There were always crew cleaning. One was even touching up some paint on the lifeboat control panels.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Slightly dated. And by slightly I mean barely. The carpet was clean and nice but this strange mustard-orange color. Didn't match anything else.. anywhere. Aside from that bed was comfy, room was good size and laid out nice.

Ship tip

This line is NOT for the mass crowds that flock to Royal or Carnival for spring break. It's also NOT a luxury gold plates everything liner. It's low-key chill with some engaging activities. The food is good, the decor is modern, and the crew is wonderful. I've been bragging to everyone about this cruise calling it the "hidden gem of Caribbean cruises"

Ports of call

Nassau, Bahamas

We only did lunch and shopped a little. The restaurant (Mckenzies on the bridge to Atlantis) was amazing. And regardless of what everyone says, when the vendors ask you to buy something, you smile and say no and they just go on. Nobody haggle us for anything. We were stopped by several people including can drivers but we just politely said no and they went on. Don't let the uncultured people tell you that "all they do is harass tourist". They don't. They have a job to do. Their job is tourism.

Port Canaveral, Florida

Take the exit right onto the road of terminals. Follow the digital signs that display what ship is at each port. Park and cruise. Perfection.

Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, Bahamas

Wonderful cute little place. I can't wait to see what else they plan to do here. Hopefully add a few more food places and maybe a stage for entertainment or a zipline. But for the love of God, no Waterpark. Keep it lowkey.

Disembarkation

Ok, so this was by far my biggest surprise.if I could give this 10 stars I would. We walked down to the meeting area 15 minutes before scheduled to disembark and didn't see anyone but some crew waiting by the sign. Then we were just led right to the door. No crowds no waiting. just walked off. Since we were passport holders, the customs agents(or whatever) scanned our face, confirmed we were who we were and told us pleasantly to have a great day. Bottom of the escalator was groups of suitcases ours was right there in group one. Rolled right on out. I think 3 more MSC agents told us to have a great day and thanked us for cruising. I was literally bewildered by the guest services. And I work in customer service. 🙃

Thank you for taking the time to share your cruise with us. Glad you enjoyed it. I agree the Divina is a hidden gem. My only complaint was the food selections and quality could be improved upon.

Thanks for the review. I cruised with MSC in January and agree with your comments. I had a great experience and will be cruising with them again in October.
