Review summary

Enjoyed our first MSC and back-to-back. The Yacht Club was a wonderful experience. Enjoyed everyone who was a staff member. Food in Muse was not our favorite. Just over 100 days until our next cruise on Disney Wish.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
We were told that the butler was going to carry our bags on the ship. Didn't happen.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Muse had food that was way out of the norm for us. Asked for a main dining dinner and they kept saying how they couldn't guarantee freshness as it was 10 floors below. They had an elevator. Only ate in Muse once during our 7 nights. Steakhouse was great. High tea was superb. Loved the food at the Yacht Club bar area and lounge.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
YC pool area was empty at most times. Massage was wonderful as there was no tip required and no stupid upselling of products. MSC wins the spa category for all other cruise lines we have been on.

Entertainment

2 out of 5
The shows were fine. Master Chef was entertaining but the main shows were blah. Disney, RCL and Carnival do a better job.

Children's Programs

Didn't bring kids.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Room stewards were incredible. We had 2 different sets for our back-to-back. Lounge attendants, concierge, everyone working were wonderful.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The only weird thing about the layout was that the dining for Yacht Club was on the opposite side of the ship with no good way to get there (from floor 15 to 7 walk across then 7 to whatever). Ship was clean but you could tell older as our balcony needed to have some rust repainted!

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Our cabin was perfect for us. We had a square suite so there was about 5 feet of space to walk around the bed. Loved the walk in closet, shower only had glass halfway along so you worried about getting the floor wet. We ordered loungers for the balcony and they fit perfectly.

Ship tip

Yacht Club was the way to go. Just having a room key that priority called the elevator was worth it! Lounge and bar access was quite enjoyable.

Ports of call

Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, Bahamas

5 out of 5
We enjoyed Ocean Cay. Shopping was varied and the Ocean House was quite relaxing. The beach area for YC was not nearly as pretty as other areas. Too rocky and no good trees for shade. (Yes they have umbrellas)

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Walked off then back on for back to back. Final walking off was delayed but we walked straight off again. Worst part was paying for parking. That line was long.
