service was excellent by wpfizenmaier

cabins are smaller then what we are used to, but the Yacht Club area had a lot of space. That helped a lot. Restaurant service was great. Galaxy restaurant was excellent, but only a few customers.

Save your money !!! Trip from hell !!!!!!! by chiefredmann2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Most horrible trip ever !!!!!!! Start with no wheel chairs because the butlers took them all for the suite passengers I waited 3 hrs for a chair.. nice start to a vacation.  Room was clean. Went to dinner which was roast beef. Ha..Ha.. The meat was as thick as a piece of bologna, one half fat the other was red raw meat. No potatoes or rice, just one small piece of carrot. This was the best meal we had in the dining room. We went to the buffet and were almost trampled by both guests shoving and grabbing and the employees trying to hide. It went down hill from there.By the way, most of the employees did not speak English. They took everything from the fridge the last night and locked it. I needed it for my meds, but had to put them in a bucket of ice. It truly was the trip from hell.

My 3rd cruise on MSC Divina by takcir

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The shows on MSC Divina are absolutely wonderful. I don't think any other cruise line can compare. The food covers most if not all the nationalities on board. the only thing I could complain about was the mini bar in our state room was not restocked. This ship is beautiful. It is not a typical "American" cruise as it is an Italian cruise line and there are many different nationalities on board(which I like) some people seemed to be offended by this!!!!

One of the most luxurious cruises i ever been!! Great service as well. I will definitely recommend this one.

Very good cruise by phyl1996

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Bermuda

We had a great cruise aboard the Davina, embarking and departing was very efficient. The cruise ship is beautiful .The shows were absolutely over the top!!!The only thing I really didn't like was ,we like to sit on Deck 7 ,but they didn't have chairs on this deck. Wasn't that big of a deal. Just happens to be where we can sit and listen to the sounds of the ocean.

Overall Review of 7 night cruise by bkburmester

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Bermuda

This was our first cruise with MSC and it will  not be our last.  Overall, the food was excellent, the entertainment was outstanding and the crew were more than helpful for any questions/concerns we may have had.  Housekeeping did an excellent job in keeping our room clean and neat.  Shore excursions were very good, on time and very informative.  However, one issue did arise for people who could not go up and down stairs in our glass bottom boat tour in Nassau.  The glass bottom was at the bottom of the boat requiring everyone to go up and down rather steep stairs. This should have been more fully explained in the description before one books an excursion such as this and is elderly or traveling with very small children.

Luxurious ship and seniors ! by anthonydefalco1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Bermuda

If you want a luxurious ship beautifully appointed and lots of senior citizens , this is for you . We went for honeymoon and loved the desserts and complimentary champagne . We ended up skipping the seated dinner for the buffet . The foods were the same and buffet service was quicker and my served foods always ended up cold , slow service in the dinning room .

The activities were fun and the quality of the shows was amazing !!!!

Most everyone on the ship was much older , I'm 44 and thought it would be more families . Overall it was a nice time ,

Bermuda On the Divina by DonMar4718

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Bermuda

We were not impressed with the ship this cruise.  We were on the MSC Divina in December of 2014.  The food was much better and hotter.  On one night they featured meatloaf on the menu in the main dining room.  They must be cutting back on expenses.

First MSC Cruise by jorga65

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Bermuda

The Divina is HUGE! And, unfortunately, 7 nights were insufficient to really get to know one's way around such a large ship.  But the ship is truly gorgeous! The crew, although not all proficient in English language, did try their best to communicate.  The food was extremely good, the service impeccable, and housekeeping was very proficient with their service.  Kinda missed the towel animals in our stateroom, especially since we saw them in other staterooms.  My Dad's status from another cruise line was recognized by MSC, however, mine was not, and I did not receive any notification as to why it was not.  (My Dad & I both have same status on another cruiseline.)  The people met were much friendlier than we have encountered on other cruises, so even though the weather sucked, we had a wonderful time!  The nightly shows were phenominal, And the debarkation procedure was truly a wonderful experience.  All-in-all, we did enjoy the MSC Divina, and would like to have a repeat performance!!!

not happy by jebost

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Bermuda

Not a good ratio waiters to guest. The food was more often than not cool when it was served. Do not know how they got the steaks cut so thin except for two nights. Service was slow. Our assistant waiter Imam worked hard and tried to give us good service but no one else seemed to care. The buffet was not what we were use to with the fruit not ripe and one morning i needed a knife to cut my fried eggs which were cold. the tea lemonade and juices seemed watered down!

The shows were GREAT. The ship was very nice.

Disappointed by daenman

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Bermuda

My sister and I have been on many cruises and were looking forward to an Italian ship and it's atmosphere.  The ship is beautiful, the entertainment great.  The dining room food was not!  My sis is on a low salt diet and the head waiter tried very hard to accommodate her,but the menu left her with not many choices.  She preferred the food in the buffet.  One nite she was given a frozen stuffed turkey dinner, she asked if they had fresh roasted turkey, they said no.  Next day they were carving a delicious fresh turkey in the buffet. I think you need a new chief chef.

customer service was varied, some very good others not so good.

crowd control in the buffet was pretty bad.  Lots of crew walking around not helping.

There was a lot of criticism by other guests heard everywhere on the ship.

I doubt we will cruise with you againSad

dinning experience unsatisfactory by grandpamike2929

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Bermuda

the dinning room was very crowded. It was also very loud .the tables were too close together .the servers were not very engaging ,on other cruise lines they try to learn your name and inquire about your satisfaction. we felt like uninvited guests at a  strangers wedding. the public space seemed too small when at sea and everyone was on board.t

A Five Star Cruise by deedonmj

My spouse and I enjoyed this cruise very much.  What's not to like when you are waited on hand and foot!Happy  We would consider going on MSC again.  Reason we picked this particular cruise was that it went to Bermuda and we had not been there in the past.  Thank you Delta Cruises and MSC!!

Need to train staff in customer service importance. by bhuney

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Bermuda

Great destination, great food, great room cleaning service, great entertainment but lousy service by all other employees.  Your service desk, excursion desk and casino employees were rude and not helpful when asked for information.  I think it is ridiculous that you didn't have maps of Bermuda or bus and ferry schedules available when the government in Hamilton gladly handed out very professional versions of both and asked us to take even more in case anyone else in our group needed them.  Since they are free and readily available why are your people not able to get them and are so rude when we asked for them.  They only had a lousy version of a map and said that had no copy machine for us to have even a copy of that.  Maybe you are not aware but there are many choices of cruise lines available and the big difference between them is customer service which many of your employees don't understand or care.  It must cost you a lot of return customers such as myself and the other 3 adults in my party.  And you are doing that to people who take lots of cruises and have the time and money for years to come.

Run away! by Cruiser683

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This was a terrible experience overall.  The only nice thing about this cruise was the three times we were able to get off the ship.  The staff, at absolutely every level on this ship, is incredibly rude and clearly unhappy about being there.  They have zero interest in making you feel welcome or even in being pleasant in any way towards you. The children's program was horrible. We specifically sought a ship with a children's program. If you have a 7 year old -do not go on this cruise (for this and many other reasons).  Our child was too old for the younger children's group (3 to 6), so put with the 7 to 11 yr olds who are in the teen room (graffiti disco).  It is constant loud dance music and video games. With no apparent structure/planned activities other than the occasional "parade" around the ship to loud dance music.  We were not at all comfortable leaving her in that environment, nor did she want to be left there. The ship has a big slide, but you have to be 8 years old, so she was too young for that.  So the deck pools seemed filled with the 7 to 10 year old set - too old for the kids program and too young for the teen room.

The evening dining experience was not much better.  Our waiter was clearly unhappy to be there.  The orders were always wrong and or the courses brought out of order (one evening brought the kids (we were seated with another family) ice cream before their entree!)  I asked for a glass of wine when I placed my dinner order, but was told I was too late as the waiter for the bar had already come around.  The food was okay. Not terrible.  Desserts were very good.

The food buffet is a zoo.  Difficult to find a place to sit. We ended up eating in shifts as one would find a table and hold it while the others got their food and by the time the one holding the table got their plate, the others were done eating.  Long lines for the food and a lot of pushing and shoving to get to the food (I found that weird behavior too).  It was really uncomfortable.

If you wait until after 10:00 to go to any of the decks, it is near impossible to find a deck chair or table. We never once were able to sit or lay out in the sun unless we sat on the edge of the pool (and we did get out there on some mornings well before 10:00).  The water in the pool is set at a very low temperature and was too cold to swim, but given all the stuff floating in it, I still would not have gone in. The kids seemed to be fine with the temperature and I kept my fingers crossed my child did not get sick!

If you order the drink packages of any type, you receive paper coupons you have to carry with you. We found this cumbersome and we would often be out and realize we forgot the coupons in the room.  Other cruises just have it tied to your room card account.  We would be at the dinner table in the evening counting out our coupons for the waiter at the end of the evening (if we ordered water bottles or sodas for the kids too).

This is the first time (3rd cruise) we booked excursions through the cruise line. That was a mistake.  They would not give us information about the time of the excursions until the night before - so made it difficult to plan anything else but the one excursion. On my last cruise I was able to plan two excursions per port.  We were told, in St. Thomas for example, that maps would be available in the morning when we got off the ship.  Unfortunately, there were no maps to be found. Same message in San Juan. We walked to a shop in town and found a map there. If you booked your excursion through the ship, you meet in the theatre where you can wait up to an extra 45 min/hour before you actually go on the excursion - again, taking away valuable time at the location.  I would not recommend booking through the ship.

We also had our 17 year old son with us. He did not do the youth program as it appeared the teens were younger than he is and he did not particularly like the loud screaming music (you could not talk to anyone it was too loud).   He did enjoy the Formula 1 simulator - but it does cost each time you do it and only last for a few minutes.  He was too big for the slide (or at least he thought so!)  Since he is 17, he sleeps past 9:00 so no place in the sun on the deck left available for him. He spent most of his time in the room watching tv. There were lots of activities on the ship (i.e. ping pong challenge, soccer challenge, etc.) but they stipulated 18 and over, so he could not do those.

We will never cruise this line again. It was a terrible waste of money and vacation time. Not relaxing at all!!!  We were so frustrated about little things, every day, that should not have been issues at all (i.e. being told there would be maps, but none to be found, not given times for excursions until evening before, constant rude behavior by staff was just so energy zapping - dreaded ordering a drink because I knew I would either get barked at for something (i.e. not my station) or simply treated with indifference, not once having our child in a program so we could go for dinner or night cap on our own).

Customer service a nightmare! by jane780

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

My family chose MSC for the first time. Having cruised many times with other cruise providers we decided to do something different. We had 2 cabins booked as my son and his family were with us. First let me say that the entertainment was the absolute best from any other cruise ever! What a talented group of singers and dancers!!! We have probably done at least 15 cruises and you by far have the best talent. Also, housekeeping was awesome. She kept our cabin spotless and bed was always made even if we took an afternoon nap.

Now to the food and the service in the dining room. We enjoy dressing at night and going to a formal dinner. Nothing about this experience was enjoyable. The food was not good. Our waiter spoke very little English so we had to point at everything on the menu. If we dared to even ask for a cup of coffee we never got it. He was extremely nice (Rafelle) but just could not understand us. I don't know his name but the young man that served the bread and beverage understood us and was also very pleasant. After the bad experience night after night in the dining room we decided to try the steak house. On other ships it was always a nice dining experience. We were seated and others were waited on before us. It took 2 full hours to dine. For such a beautiful ship the dining room for the steak house was a huge disappointment. Vinyl chairs is not expected in a steak house. When our food arrived the rib eyes were very thin and tasteless. By the time we had gotten our food other diners that came in after us were already leaving. Another thing that I noticed is the number of hand sanitizers available. On other ships they are everywhere and upon entering the dining area there are staff standing there to tell everyone to use the sanitizer. I feel like staying safe from germs is a necessity on a cruise ship. My husband and I both left the ship with a cold and now home from work today sick. Overall this was not a good experience. I give you one star simply because the entertainment was totally awesome.

dispite an air of disorganization, a pleasant cruise by springermanmn

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

First time on MSC.  We read reviews and watched various Youtube synopses; not that we would have been dissuaded - the price for the cruise was excellent.  (thanks Gary at Delta Cruises)  Our balcony room, although somewhat small was very pleasant and we made much of our seaside balcony.  There had been numerous comments about the food good and bad.  We found the food as good or better than some of the other cruises we've been on.  There were premade omelets at the breakfast buffet which I thought was very smart and helped to keep the lines moving (no long lines waiting for an omelet to be made)  No complaints - I'd rate the food from the sit downs and buffet as very good to excellent.  There is much mention of the traffic patterns in the buffet area and I second those.  I think MSC would do well to do a study of the how to more efficiently conduct people around and through the buffet area.  There are a lot of pinch points that develop so watch your step if you're carrying a plate of food in your quest to find an open table.

Bring your credit cards because you will be charged a pretty penny for nearly everything outside the buffet or sitdown.  I was told by one of our supper tablemates that she was charged both for the alcohol and the mix.  We chose to do our drinking off the ship to avoid the expense.  The prices were significantly to somewhat cheaper than on board.

Regarding internet.  Unless you absolutely have to connect, you'd best wait until you get off at your various stops.  Wifi is $29.90/hr; $44.90 for 100 minutes; $99.90/5 hrs and on and up.  Internet cafe is $4.99 for 10 minutes and upward.  We found free wifi at each stop along the way (Charlotte Am, USVI; San Juan, PR; Nassau, Bahama)  The disclaimer for shipboard wifi/iternet says, "Internet access via satellite is significantly slower than high speed connection on shore."  You've been warned.

It seems like the help is either overworked or understaffed.  That said, our cabin attendant, Agus was fantastic.  I humble hardworking friendly man.  Our table staff also was great - by and large the whole staff was friendly and attentive.  On the dress-up nights, however, the ship photographers commandeered the crystal staircase (as if the rest of the passengers didn't want to take their own photos on the staircase).  MSC, share the staircase with the rest of your paying passengers during these dress up nights.

The signage on the ship left a bit to be desired.  We constantly had to find the ship's maps posted near the elevators to find various places where events were happening - they are not found in the rooms.  Some of the decks don't connect all the way through so take note the first time you run into this on your way to some destination.

Entertainment:  disclaimer - I booked this in January not realizing it was spring break so maybe that had something to do with what was offered.  The opening night entertainment was a mixed bag.  Some good music and some modern caterwalling.  We left after a while.  There is not an "in house" band - the pre-recorded music was well coordinated with the events.  Major complaint - MSC, please loose the MIchael Jackson tribute!  I'm sick of the attention still given to this freak.  In fact, two other cruises and three all-inclusives have done these MJ tributes.  Makes me wonder if his estate is paying resorts and cruises to peddle his crud.  (flame away MJ worshippers)  They had kind of a readers digest version of the opera La Traviata on Thursday afternoon.  I'm not an opera fan, but I actually enjoyed the performance, especially the tenor lead.  That night there was a show featuring a lot of acrobatics - THE BEST show of the trip.  I was under the impression the last show would also feature some acrobatics but is was the Freako Jacko tribute.  We endured that only long enough to determine that's all it would be and left.  Turned out we missed a show in the guest services/piano area by the opera singers - bummer.

If you're determined to drink onboard, you'd probably do well to buy a package.

The negatives are largely an accumulation of little nitpicky things.  The positives are fewer but bigger.  Great food, nice balcony room, very good price.  Oh, one other thing I appreciated was that announcements were done over the hall speakers instead of in the rooms.  I've been on other cruises where they were piped into the rooms, which I didn't care for when I was trying to rest.

All in all, I'd give this cruise a 3.5.  The destinations were enjoyable; the cruise was comfortable and smooth; the staff was attentive; the food was great.  This is our fourth cruise with MSC being the fourth cruise line we've tried.  I liked Holland America and Royal Caribbean better, but I've been told HA has gone downhill a bit over the years.  I certainly consider MSC again after trying a couple of other lines I haven't been on yet.
