This ship is perfect! by btbrewer3926862

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Mardi Gras

Last cruise was 26yrs ago. Didn't like it. Finally decided to try again and LOVED it. Already looking to book again. Only looking at Mardi Gras, Celebration or Jubilee. Don't care where they go if I'm on one of these.

Good by ch3131

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Mardi Gras

Ok overall but would not go on this ship again. There were 2 all calls in the middle of the night which was very irritating. Should not have been to individual cabins. Dining rooms were slow and entertainment was not that great. Pools too small for that many people.

Never again! by aad273

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Mardi Gras

Carnival Mardi Gras needs to do better with their embarkation process, ship cleanliness, unruly passengers (particularly the teenagers), and offer a more extensive buffet. I know that cruise lines can offer different experiences, but what the Mardi Gras compromised on was around safety and security. Going back to Royal for good.

My Cruise by mazda2924x

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Mardi Gras

They have cut back on food choices in the main dining rooms and have gone to additional charges if you want a better meal. Prime rib and sirlion steak were about 1/2 inch thick, 2 pieces of broccoli, shrimp cocktail were very small, about 31 to 40 per pound size.

It was our first cruise and an all new adventure for us. My husband and I joined our family on the ship a total of 14 in our group. We had so much fun. The food was great the atmosphere was fun and every day we experienced something new. It was an amazing overall time for our first cruise.

Great experience by abbyadf

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Mardi Gras

We had a great time, as we were in a family group of 22. It was a fun and different experience, being on one of Carnival's newer elite ships. There is something for all ages and types of people. We met people from all over. Great for families and children. The ports were wonderful. The ship areas were easy to navigate. We really enjoyed the spa, the Serenity deck, and the gym onboard. The small elevators were difficult with so many people. The Thermal spa area needs to be larger, for a ship this size, to properly accommodate the amount of interested passengers. The many venues to eat, gave you more choices, besides the main dining room. The casino was nice and large, though the machines seemed too close together. The cruise director Kyndell Fyre is the best and her energy and enthusiasm is captivating. She is funny, talented, and beautiful. We would recommend this cruise for those who like lots of people, activities, & fun!

Great Cruise! by mojapahaz

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Mardi Gras

The Mardi Gras is a beautiful ship. However, to be a "larger" ship, it seemed crowded especially at the shows. The venues for shows are MUCH smaller and poorly designed. I was disappointed we did not get to see half the shows. However, this did not stop us from enjoying ourselves as the service and food were amazing. The ports were spectacular. I will cruise with Carnival again, just not on the Mardi Gras.

Excellent. Only issue was waiting on the elevators to go up and down. by lourdes2187

I did love the ship. It was very beautiful. All the staff were so helpful and friendly. I really enjoy the cruise except for the incident with the sliding door on the 16th floor that fracture my toe.

Good cruise despite annoyances by PaulJHermann

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Mardi Gras

Overall we had a wonderful time but the size of the ship often made dining & pool time unpleasant. We encountered many large, drunken & loud groups. We also had neighbors that smoked pot on their balconies. We complained but security took so long to check it out that the smokers were done by then. In the future we will only book on ships half the size of the Mardi Gras.

Family fun by jessicaahollis7

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Mardi Gras

The Mardi Gras has something to offer everyone. We have two small children. They loved the unlimited ice cream, pools, waterpark and slides. The rooms were comfortable, quiet. There were a variety of activities. We were busy the whole time. I cannot say enough about the staff on the ship - THE BEST! They were welcoming and thoughtful. They were happy and friendly.

Highly Recommend - would do it again!!! by dlfleming61

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Mardi Gras

Overall we had a FANTASTIC time! The ship is enough to keep us coming back - they have made some changes to the layout of the eating venues so you don't feel like a herd of cows trying to get your food.. So many options for food - all delicious. Just exploring the ship was fun. The water park, roller coaster, putt-putt golf, walking rope course, corn hole, basketball, foosball - so many things to do. The Serenity area - WOW! You get the idea.

Overall, the trip was great - I'm just not a huge fan of Orlando. There are better ports/cities to visit pre/post cruise.

Mardi Gras May cruise by ekgitti

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Mardi Gras

Food-breakfast at the Blue iguana is very good, Lunch-big salads at the adult only area is very good. Italian rest for dinner is good & steak house. Disappointed in cruise attire of most guests-why have a formal night if the ship is allowing jean shorts & tshirts in the dining room.
