Review summary

The Mardi Gras is a beautiful ship. However, to be a "larger" ship, it seemed crowded especially at the shows. The venues for shows are MUCH smaller and poorly designed. I was disappointed we did not get to see half the shows. However, this did not stop us from enjoying ourselves as the service and food were amazing. The ports were spectacular. I will cruise with Carnival again, just not on the Mardi Gras.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
It was fabulous and fast!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Carnival's food never disappoints whether or not it is the MDR or specialty restaurants. Carnival has the best Chefs table around!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Pools, shows, outdoor movies

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The talent is undeniably good, however, the venues are awful. There is not near enough seating and the majority of the seating there is, the views are obstructed.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Excellent service throughout the ship. Mardi Gras cruise director is the best I have ever seen as she made everything fun. You never knew what was going to come out of her mouth. She kept me in stitches.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship is spotless, however, I am not crazy about the layout of the ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The room was nice and clean, however the rooms are so small and a lot less storage than other ships. The balcony was SUPER!

Ship tip

If you want to get a chance at seeing a show at the midship venue, get there at least an hour and a half early.

Disembarkation

If you are walking off your suitcases, be prepared to wait FOREVER for an elevator or drag bags down the stairs! They will not let you on disembarkation level until you are called or you are have purchased or earned the privilege. With that, I say good for you! Once you are off the ship, it's a breeze!
