Good Cruise by Norsethom

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Mardi Gras

Picked this cruise for ports of call and to check out the Mardi Gras. It is a nice ship but appears not to have the elegance of some of the older smaller ships. There is a lot of people on the ship but crowds flowed very well and the elevators did appear to move a lot faster. I got my 10k steps in daily. My wife and I started feeling sick near the end of cruise and stayed in cabin last day. As suspected, we tested positive for Covid. Not complaining, it is expected when you have 6500 passengers plus staff on a ship.

Awesome ship and cruise. by carolj68

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Mardi Gras

This was our annual family cruise 15 of us. We book February of this year for our annual family cruise. The Jubilee out of Galveston June the 1st. I love Carnival and I have NEVER been on a bad cruise. This ship is beautiful and shows ar Center Stage are breath taking. Walk a lot abd get your steps in. Lost 4 pounds a lot of stairs

Bigger is not always better… by Cruisersnoozer

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Mardi Gras

Pros: Newer ship means newer rooms/facilities. Cons: Bigger ship means more people. Felt crowded most of the time. My wife and I have no desire to ever get back on the Mardi Gras. We also have no desire to get in the Celebration or Jubilee, either. We’ve sailed with Carnival most of the time. We sailed with Royal Caribbean for the first time in March of this year (2023). That’s all it took for us to realize that we STRONGLY prefer RC to Carnival and from here on out, unless Carnival has a phenomenal price that just can’t be beat, we will be “Loyal to Royal.”

The highs and lows by mmerola

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Mardi Gras

I hoped it would have been a better experience. Expected better entertainment, better overall crowd control. With that being said I will probably not be sailing again on this ship. Also, just to remind everyone, that Covid is still a real threat, I came down with it on day 6, didn’t leave stateroom out abundance of caution and with respect to everyone else sailing. This did not at all play into my review, only saying this to remind everyone to take precautions. I learned after I got back, that a good percentage of my sailing mates also were infected.

Gorgeous ship by ShannonMc81

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Mardi Gras

The ship was gorgeous and Kyndall was an amazing cruise director. The food was top notch and the ports were amazing. Bolt broke down halfway through the trip and they were working on it last sea day, but we fortunately got on twice before that happened. The arcade was a joke and most games were broken or took money with poor performance. Shows were hard to get into as venues were full about 10-15 min before showtimes. Crew was awesome as always. Overall I would book this ship, or a sister ship, again in a heartbeat. Mardi Gras is my favorite carnival ship now, just pointing out some things that some people may want to know before hand.

Fun Cruise…Not a fan of Mardi Gras by DLT364

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Mardi Gras

Mardi Gras was a nice ship. A lot of hype from people that I didn’t see why. Not a huge fan of that large of a ship. I will continue with the smaller ships.

Fantastic! However..... by nycruiseaddict

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Mardi Gras

I loved the Mardi Gras! My biggest complaint is the lack of soft-serve ice cream 24-7!!!! We looked forward to satisfying 2am ice cream cravings, and were very disappointed. No reason ice cream should be shut down while alcohol is almost always available, not to mention most cruises have an abundance of children whose parents are not necessarily enforcing a curfew on a cruise ship.

It was a great cruise, loved the ship. I booked another one. by hpascarella

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Mardi Gras

Would differently go again. The ship was set up nicely and was very clean. Stayed on deck 16 and loved it. Was in the front of the ship and was very quiet. Close to the buffet. Going on Celebration next November 2024, can't wait. Was sailing on Royal, but Royal raised they prices by quit a bit, and you can get a better deal on Carnival. Done 29 cruises, most on Carnival. Started cruising in the 1980's. Best vacation you can get.

The bathrooms on the ship need to be better going marked with different colored signs the automatic doors need to do something with them they're either too slow or they'll stay open too long
