Review summary

I hoped it would have been a better experience. Expected better entertainment, better overall crowd control. With that being said I will probably not be sailing again on this ship. Also, just to remind everyone, that Covid is still a real threat, I came down with it on day 6, didn’t leave stateroom out abundance of caution and with respect to everyone else sailing. This did not at all play into my review, only saying this to remind everyone to take precautions. I learned after I got back, that a good percentage of my sailing mates also were infected.

Embarkation

Ship arrived late due to investigation of prior cruise death of passenger, this resulted in delaying of most arrival appointments. We sat in a few mile backup of traffic leading to terminal , and as a local resident of the area and one who frequently visits the port for beach days in Jetty Park, this was not a normal traffic backup. When we arrived to port, we were put in a chaotic line of people with little to no communication of why we were no able to at least get into terminal. I found out through social media the reason for the traffic and delay. My heart goes out the person and family of the person who lost their life, however I would have expected more communication, at least giving us some kind of update. Maybe more situational training could have resulted in better communication. Just my opinion and one that was shared by many of my sailing mates.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
I am not a foody so I would leave this opinion to my ship mates who may be more fluent in giving their honest opinion. This was my 19th cruise overall, I thought food was average.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Usual activities found on most cruise lines. All in all was typical cruise activities, variety of activities (bingo, trivia of all different genres, etc) the only issue I thought was the size of most venues could not accommodate the crowd size. We had over 6000 passengers not including crew. For example we went to a dueling piano bar, and could not find a table, this was typical of all the venues during the entire sailing.

Entertainment

1 out of 5
After 19 cruises, this was by far the worst entertainment I have experienced. The cast had very little talent (no vocal talent, no technical skills) We walked out half way through each performance, it was BAD! Disappointed as this is one of my favorite things to do on every cruise I have been on.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Other then the entertainment cast, all other staff (bars, stateroom host, cleaning crew) were all excellent. Every person I encountered worked hard to satisfy me and every member of our party.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Ship was spotless! I have it only 3 stars as I didn’t get the design of the ship. The promenade stage left little to be desired. Inadequate seats with good viewing angles. A lot of viewing that you couldn’t see what was going on, thankfully there were monitors. But I shouldn’t have to view a show on a monitor when I am there in person. In my opinion, Carnival needs to rethink this concept.

Ship tip

If you are not into large, crowds, my advice would be to avoid this ship. I am not shy with large crowds, however I thought too many people on too small a ship (as big as it was) If you are looking to party and get as drunk as possible, this is ship for you!

Ports of call

Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras

Great beach, not a lot of walking. All in all good experience.

Disembarkation

Best part of the entire experience. Took about a half hour from when I left my stateroom until I was off of ship and on way my vehicle parked in terminal. Worst part was 4 small elevators servicing anyone who needed to access upper parking levels. Waited about an hour to get on an elevator. Could have used stairs, but person in my party with bad knees needed to use elevator.
