Review summary

Pros: Newer ship means newer rooms/facilities. Cons: Bigger ship means more people. Felt crowded most of the time. My wife and I have no desire to ever get back on the Mardi Gras. We also have no desire to get in the Celebration or Jubilee, either. We’ve sailed with Carnival most of the time. We sailed with Royal Caribbean for the first time in March of this year (2023). That’s all it took for us to realize that we STRONGLY prefer RC to Carnival and from here on out, unless Carnival has a phenomenal price that just can’t be beat, we will be “Loyal to Royal.”

Bigger ship= more people. Be prepared to wait for elevators for quite a bit of time.

No matter what cruise line you sail. All ships will be at maximum capacity because of the demand now. So even if you cruise smaller ships, they also will be crowded, especially if cruise doing peak times. Summer, holidays, and spring break. But as someone said to each, it's own. But you're not loyal if jump ships just because of price. So you're loyal to the price and how much you have to spend, not to a particular cruise line.

100% agree with you never again with carnival. I just get off from the Mardi Gras a totally chaos, I'm going back to Royal.

I enjoy Carnivals itinerary and dining room food over Royal.

Appreciate your detailed feedback. Not a fan of the bigger ships. Happy you found a cruise line that fits your needs. Glad you enjoyed your cruise.

To each their own, of course. But, it's also summer time = Kids on summer break = Crowded Cruise Lines

Good for you at least trying it. Big ships aren't for everyone. I'm glad you found out Royal is a better fit for you. Carnival is for fun people, not squares. 🤣
