Review summary

It was fantastic. We omitted excursions because they were crazy expensive. There wasn’t too many activities that were under $100 per person. Overall, the family was happy, we enjoyed our time and planning our next cruise!!

Embarkation

Easy process, just have your items ready for showing and press. People who aren’t prepared slow the process for everyone in line.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Main dining was a miss for me. The steak was not as amazing as it used to be. The atmosphere was wonderful but folks were very lax in dress attire. It could just be location. The food was ok at best. The buffet was pretty good. Breakfast was ok but lunch and dinner were great. Lots of cuisine options and tasty. The noodle bar was by far the best! The Ramen was a hit and everyone seemed to love it. We ate primarily at the buffet and we all enjoyed the options and ease.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Majestic was a much more chill environment. There was an indoor pool that was flooded with kiddos majority of the time. which is fine because they had a blast. The fitness center was great, lots of options from free weights to machines and cardio equipment. The only downfall was there was an extra cost to yoga, Pilates or Barre classes. Kind of a bummer since they were only 30 min a session.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The shows were ok. A lot of opera heavy shows and if that’s not your thing, it may not be as enjoyable. We took the kids to the first show where there were a lot of special effects with lights and movement of equipment on stage. The singing was good and they covered a lot of old top chart songs. The kids enjoyed it but didn’t love it. It was fun and different but didn’t quite captivate the audience. However, the performers are talented and executed their parts exceptionally.

Children's Programs

Highly recommend! The kids loved every bit of the kids they play place. We have a 7 and 10 year old. They were separated most of the time but 100% enjoyed every moment and couldn’t wait to go back. There was a teen area but no comment considering we didn’t experience that part.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
It’s been about 2 years since our last cruise and we didn’t feel the pampering like we’ve received in the past. Perhaps rude customers changed their processes but nonetheless the feeling of being treated like royalty was nonexistent. We’re easy going customers and didnt mind the change but it was a little sad that we didn’t have no little towel animals anymore. Small wants over here! lol. The bar service was kinda slow, I witness some customers being totally ignored and the atmosphere was more laid back than anything. There could be a lot of reasons why it didn’t feel that way such as, less workers more responsibilities, revised company practices, elimination of unnecessary costs/processes. Either way, it wasn’t the same. Every single person we spoke to was absolutely wonderful and friendly. I always asked about their family, said hello by their name and made them feel like they were the guest.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The cabin was ok for the 4 of us. It was smaller than I wanted and was hoping I would get the room with the pull out couch. There’s only a desk with one chair, 2 nightstands, and fridge. We originally had the beds separated as twins but asked for them to be pushed together. The other twin beds are pulled out from the ceiling. Due to safety reasons, we could not pull both twin beds out and have our beds configured as a king. So we opted for the kids to share a twin, as seen in the photo. The view wasn’t terrible. The obstructed view: We still managed to take great photos of the landscape and even had a few birds land on our area to hang out. The balcony is small but enough room for two people to hang out on. The kids went out there a few times but since it was cold most of the time, it wasn’t a lot. There is extra storage under the beds for suitcases or shoes. The photos give a better representation of what it would be like to live there for a week!

Ship tip

This cruise was more relaxed than any other cruise I’ve been on. It could be good or bad, depending on expectations but the areas were absolutely beautiful! The company was a dream and the overall adventure of the location was a scene to remember. Our advice would be to enjoy the relaxation that accompanies this cruise!

Ports of call

Victoria, British Columbia

We’re coming back here! This city was not only beautiful but the architecture is one to be admired! They have old Victorian homes, buildings and just a plethora of history. The melting pot of cultures truly showcases in the architecture of the buildings. So much history and we loved they preserved that character after the gold rush era. This place has many locations where hauntings have occurred for those interested in the dark side of history. Overall. This city was gorgeous and the views are Hallmark movie worthy!

Skagway, Alaska

This area was so much fun, the town was alive and the historic building made you feel like you stepped back in time! Definitely worth the experience!

CRUISE ENDICOTT ARM & DAWES GLACIER

This scenic area was breathtaking. The photos don’t do it justice and it’s a place one must experience!

Ketchikan, Alaska

The area was beautiful. It was rainy, windy, and cold. We learned a lot about Salmon. lol

Disembarkation

Easy as pie! We did the self serve, took our own luggage off and checked out via the medallion once. We were out of the terminal in less than 15min.

Glad that you and your family had a great cruise. The Alaska itineraries tend to have a more relaxed dress than other cruises.

I’m curious. I’ve read everywhere and watched videos that the indoor pool is adult only. Did they change it? Doesn’t matter to me. I would love to play with kids in a pool.
