This was a cruise on a smaller ship. It was disappointing to see that the dress code for gala dinners was not strictly adhered to. On New Years eve there was no balloon drop, just a deck party on the lido. The biggest let down was the lack of Professional entertainment in the theatre at night. Not many activities organised during the day either which was poor, especially on sea days.
There was no Destination expert as such and the company running the excursions did not seem to have the knowledge of say Princess staff
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Very good and quick
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Dress code not really enforced, all drinks carried a 18%service charge, the pricing was in $US so could be expensive
Onboard Activities
1 out of 5
Not very much to do during the day, trivia at 4pm and 7pm
Entertainment
1 out of 5
No theatre style productions. No shows every night. Some evenings just a movie shown in the main theatre. In two weeks we had 4 Spanish Opera singers , a second rate American comedian, a couple of vocal and instrumentalists. Only one good show, singer/guitarist called Patrick McMahon
Children's Programs
Only about 5 children on the cruise
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Staff were all pleasant and friendly, room stewards were good and the cabin was kept clean and tidy
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
For an old ship, it was not in bad condition, although despite recent refurbishment it is starting to look old and tired
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
The cabin was a good size with smallish bathroom, but included a bathtub. Small seating area for two with table and a desk and chair. Balcony adequate with two loungers and small table
Ship tip
Make sure that you find out information on the ports visited before joining. The EXC onboard guides appear to just gather their information from google and are not very helpful
Spent time in the port ourselves, got information from local tourist information. Used the shuttle from the ship. Only a small town, but good local taxi service.
