Great Fun for the Entire Family! by CharB

Sail date: /
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Our family held a family reunion to celebrate Dad's 80th birthday on board the beautiful Liberty of the Seas. The staff was friendly, the food great, and the opportunities for fun unbelievable. From ages 8 months to 80 years everyone was smiling. Can't wait for the new Oasis of the Seas!

Disappointed by AlexB5

Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This was our fifth cruise. We have sailed on Princess, Holland America, and Royall Caribbean (ten years ago) lines before. Let's start with what we liked: It was big and a brand new ship. The food was great. The service in the dining area was great and so were the shows. Things that were not: The service in the Windjamer (buffet area) was not existent after the second day. We could not get coffee at all. No one would come by and ask. If they did, we would not get the coffee till we finished eating. We eventually had to get it ourselves. They would not pick up the dirty plates. When you asked for certain items at the Windjamer, they would sometimes roll their eyes. On their private Island in Haiti, they had a Bar-B-Q; it was from 11 am to 2 pm. I did not hear when they announced the hours of the Bar-B-Q and I'm sure other people might have missed it too. I got in line with a friend at 2:15 pm. Another passenger got behind us. The guy behind us says to the, what looked to be the head waiter (dressed in white Royal Caribbean uniform), there doesn't seem to be much dessert left. The waiter's response, and I quote, "We close at 2 pm and it is 2:15 pm, you are lucky to get anything." I don't think I have to explain how that feels when you are on vacation. He could have said, let me see what I can do, or I'm sorry but unfortunately we close at 2, but the attitude of "You are lucky to get anything." One more thing, three quarters of the lockers in the men's locker room were broken. I went into a steam room and came out to try to take a shower; there were no soap or shampoo in any of the showers. Before I left, I told them that they were out. The next day when I went to take a shower, there was soap but no shampoo. By the way, they don't charge for orange juice at breakfast but they charge for it at lunch if you want it. They were constantly performing maintenance during what I think are regular hours. They were changing the carpet like material around the pool area. The pool and half of the Jacuzzis were closed. The other half of the Jacuzzis that were working, one was not heated and the other one was not working. This happened at 9:30 pm, two nights in a row. Same thing happened with the ping pong tables at 11:00 am. We are probably never going to take a Royal Caribbean cruise again.

"Awsome cruise" by CherylT7

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple

The ship was huge and very beautiful. Because of the advanced technology, I felt very little movement of the ship when at sea. The ship had many activities and adventures to just about please everyone.

"Family Gathering at Sea" by GabyD

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship was great but the large amount of people that the ship holds affected the special service that I had always had with Royal Caribbean. That was what made it different from other cruise lines. Most likely I will stick to the smaller ship next time. The activies on the ship were a novelty for the kids and they were really happy with them. The excursion were not well organized. They messed up with a couple of our request and we were double charged on one occasion, this was corrected but the longgggg waits in lines to get someone to help at the Exploration's desk was a nightmare. The dining experience was spectacular as usual, food was delicious and the services at the dinningroom was great.

What a Ship!! by DougM2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

From the quick check-in to the fast "self-serve" disembarkation and everything in between this was as good as cruising gets. Every aspect of the ship, as you'll see below, was top notch. Same with the service from the ship's crew. The itinerary was hit and miss. The hours we were in San Juan (7am-2pm) could have been better and the El Yunque Rainforest tour was a waste of time. But St. Maarten is beautiful and there are lots of shopping bargins to be had. And for me the peacefulness of Labadee was the highlight. It's a beautiful area with lots of different water activities to choose from. I would recommend you do the Dragon's Breath Flight Line.

A Great cruise by BonnieM5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I would book another cruise on this ship. I would not book another prominade room. I would make sure my room was not over any bars or near the casino. I enjoy the evening intertainment but I am not a night owl. I found myself more exhausted after my cruise because of lack of sleep!

A wonderful cruise by DaleH1

The ship is huge. There is lots to do. The Windjammer is always crowed and at times you could not find a seat. We really enjoyed the ship but did not like fighting the crowds each day in the public areas.

This Cruise Rocks! by CaptainM

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

It was a massive and elegent ship. It can hold 4000 people but you wouldn't know it because there are so many things to do that everybody is out doing there own thing. The 5 course meals were amazing like Emeril Lagasse was making them. I was truely amazed at everything this ship had to offer.

It was a beautiful ship by TerryM9

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Pros: Ship is beautiful, Decor. was very pretty. Balcony was great. Service was very good. Cons: The food at the windjammer@jade was terrible. My husband is not a pickey eatter but couldn't find much to eat there. I eat salad most of the time. The dining room was ok. but don't like the sitting assigning. Should be open sitting. Get with the times.

Sailing With Gastov by MelanieM2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We have sailed on the Liberty before and as before was just as impressed. The ship is amazing as is the staff. We were sailing with Hurricane Gustov, which was a little unsettling, however the captain made a video for the info channel to explain where we were and where we were going in relation to the hurricane. Only a few bad days of weather and the rest was beautiful. The only complaint we had was our dinner reservations were incorrect and we were not able to sit with our friends which we hadnt seen in 4 years. Oh yes, not to forget the hundreds of 15 yr old thong wearing rude girls that cut in all the lines, ran up and down the halls all night and would actually bump into you if you didnt get out of there way. Not to mention the fact that there were only 6 adults minding them! This was the topic at most dinner tables, most pubs, at the pools, etc, etc. I will certainly ask if there is a party like that when I book again.

I thought it was beautiful. Clean. There was always a crew member cleaning something. Our wait staff was incredible. We had the main seating at table 545 and they couldn't do enough for us. We were sad to leave them.

AN AMAZING CRUISE! by LorrieP1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Liberty of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This was our 3rd RCCL cruise and by far the best. The ship was bigger than we could imagine and we had very little 'rocking' feeling. The staff was tremendous, GREAT cruise director and cruise staff. The food was unbelievable. I don't have a bad thing to say about this cruise, except that getting off the ship to go through customs was VERY slow. If you can do early departure DO SO!
