What a Ship!!

Sail Date: September 27, 2008

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Oceanview

From the quick check-in to the fast "self-serve" disembarkation and everything in between this was as good as cruising gets.
Every aspect of the ship, as you'll see below, was top notch. Same with the service from the ship's crew.
The itinerary was hit and miss. The hours we were in San Juan (7am-2pm) could have been better and the El Yunque Rainforest tour was a waste of time. But St. Maarten is beautiful and there are lots of shopping bargins to be had. And for me the peacefulness of Labadee was the highlight. It's a beautiful area with lots of different water activities to choose from. I would recommend you do the Dragon's Breath Flight Line.

Pros: The extrordinary variety of things to do on-board

Cons: the boring El Yunque Rainforest Tour

Recommends Liberty of the Seas? Yes!

San Juan, Puerto Rico
the hours we visited weren't the best. And we mad a bad choice by going with the El Yunque Rainforest tour. Our guide was nice but we saw more wildlife EVERYWHERE else all week long then we did there. Very disappointing.
Don't Miss: from previous experience you should check out the forts and get some local cuisine
Labadee (Cruiseline Private Island)
Do the Dragon's Breath zip line. Not only is it quite a thrill to go 50-60 MPH from 500 ft up but you get an amazing view of the island from the top of the zip line. The rest of the island is beautiful. Very relaxing day. You can rent all sorts of watercraft, play in thier waterpark (need to pay for those) or enjoy the crystal blue waters. There are a few areas to swim, whether you want to hit the waves or lie on a mat in the calm lagoon.
Don't Miss: Dragon's Breath zip-line
Philipsburg, St. Maarten
A very beautiful island. Unfortunately we only got to visit the Dutch side so we'll have to try the French side next time. But we had a very nice day shopping, lots of great deals on alcohol and the local flavored rums are fantastic, and soaking up the atmosphere.
Don't Miss: the native flavored rums
