Holland America provided a shuttle from the hotel to the pier. Embarkation was swift.

The food in the main dining room was very good especially the beef. The ‘cafeteria’ was ok but not great.

Storage could have been better but the beds were comfortable. In cabin movies were plentiful and recent box office blockbusters.

Excursion: Omission & Cetna Countryside. We drove along the coast to Omis,walked thru the town then boarded a riverboat that meandered along the Catina River estuary. Drifted to an old water mill then downstream to a local restaurant for a snack of regional delicacies.

Excursion: Ultimate Scenic Road Train & Wine Tasting. I chose this tour since I had previously toured the walled city. We visited three wineries in the Konavle Valley. We also stopped in the village of Ljuta to visit an old flour mill followed by a short walk to see how wool is prepared for market.

Because our planned excursion was cancelled we took the hop-on-hop-off bus, if you want to call it that. Skip the bus and walk to the Old Town which is located across the street from the pier.

Excursion: Panoramic Corfu. Spectacular scenery high up the mountain.

Excursion: Taormina & the Grecian-Roman Theatre. Pleasant drive to the city perched on a terrace overlooking the sea. Pedestrian only with plenty of cafes and shops. Lovely scenic drive. Could see mount Etna in the distance.

Korcula Island, Croatia

Excursion: Peljesac Wines & Vineyards. Took a short boat ride from the island to the Peljesac Peninsula on Croatia’s mainland. Visited two wineries. Scenery was lovely.
