Great cruise, wonderful vacation by ttnbgdnv

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Jewel of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We have really enjoyed our one week vacation - thanks to Royal Caribbean, and were very much impressed. Everything was perfect, both the ship and the islands. The only one thing that we disliked was entertainment in the theater except for Tony Tillman who sang and danced like young. The staff was very friendly and helpful, especially Maria Vega as the stateroom attendant and Olena Matkovska in Windjammer. We very much appreciate their job. Overall, we had wonderful cruise and were completely satisfied

Transatlantic by AnchorsAway69

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Jewel of the Seas / Destination: Transatlantic

Was a bit apprehensive about the ship as do prefer the bigger ones (Independence or/Allure) but was surprised how nice it was. Did love the layout of the outside of windjammer. Only downside was the times of the shows as we were with friends and as those time we were drinking or eating so didn't see almost any of the intertainment.

Not So Royal Treatment by iamcrystal

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Jewel of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Let me start by saying the ship had one more voyage before it was to be completely remodeled so this has nothing to do with the condition of the ship.  With the exception of our cabin attendant the majority of the staff were rude, unhelpful or simply ignored you.  We were asked to change dining assignments to help accommodate a larger group which we did.  Had we known what we were getting we would not.  Corner, forgotten and cold food.  Room service not much better.  Took an hour to get half of what we ordered...sandwiches with no tops and salads with no dressing.  Ports were nice.

Excellent Cruise by JackieAubele

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Jewel of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

This cruise was fabulous. My boyfriend and I were trying to decide on an all inclusive place to make a quick getaway but found that the cruise was a better opportunity to see many islands at one time. Now we have a good idea of where we'd like to spend more time in the future. This was my 5th cruise with Royal Caribbean, and I will sail with no other cruise line. The ship was one of the smaller in their fleet but great and there was always some sort of entertainment going on. The staff was superb and on top of things. I really enjoyed this itinerary.

3 night Southern Caribbean Cruise by marybarry2017

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Jewel of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We particularly enjoyed the Safari Island Drive with Christian on St. Kitts.  Our St. Maartin tour was cancelled and replaced with the Double Decker tour. That tour only shows tourists the overall island and there is no time to eat a meal or really shop. We are going back to St. Maartin next year for a week. Shopping is better on St. Maartin.

Room service & the dining room are the best free choices for meals on the ship. We enjoyed having a balcony to eat breakfast on one morning. The balcony also helped us to enjoy the cruise without feeling crowded. Hot tubs were only empty in the mornings. Otherwise, pools looked quite crowded.

The first night's mandatory drill caused dinner to be cancelled until 8:30 PM. I think the ship should leave earlier and have the drill earlier, instead of taking an hour of our time the first evening.

We did not book the next cruise while on the ship.

New Year's Eve on Jewel of the Seas by jaipowell

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Jewel of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Overall we had a relaxing vacation on RC's Jewel of the Seas.  The staff was excellent and we really enjoyed the trip. Our servers Mario Sual and John Castro - always were prepared when we arrived in the dining room. We kept requesting them to be our servers each night. They got to know us, gave us tips about the ship!  Mr. Marko in Latte-tudes makes the best espresso drinks - with much humor!  He too offered suggestions about what to do in each port.

Happy

This was an amazing experience.  Everyone made us feel special.  The events on the ship and at ports were fun and exciting.  The shows were performed wonderfully.  I loved the food and can't wait until my next cruise.

Great times by yosi317

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Jewel of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The ship is much smaller than Adventures of the seas and it could use a little updating it showed wear.   The staff was really great very friendly, entertainment was great. I was sick and could not go to an excursion we purchase the night before, I went to the desk and explain and received a full refund.  I do like my time dining.  The food was not great, don't get me wrong was not bad but not great either.  Overall I had a great time and we are looking for another cruise next year.

Fine Experience as Expected by songwarrior

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Jewel of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Let me start the review by telling you I always sail Royal Caribbean and I went on Allure of the Seas in April.  That being said . . . this was a small ship.  :-)  I had to put in perspective for this review.  Royal Caribbean always has excellent staff, very clean ships, good itineraries.  This ship lacked a few things in my opinion.  The shows were very lackluster.  Only 2 shows were the singers and dancers only.  The other shows were comedians and jugglers.  I look forward to the singing and dancing shows so this was a disappointment to me.  Also, I found that staying on the ship during the day was rather boring.  There were not alot of activities offered to folks that wanted to stay on the ship.  We got out at every port, but came back at lunch and stayed on after that.  We just hung around and played Scrabble most days.  The My Time dining went very well with the exception of how the tables were set up.  They are set up family style so there is about a 6" gap between tables making it impossible to have a private conversation over dinner.  The food was good most nights. One chewy steak but otherwise very good.  The Art Auction was very lacking.  Not a great assortment of art and not alot of great deals for the not so rich and famous.  Usually there are some lesser expensive options.  This cruise did not have those.  The excursions were great.  They were as described and worth the cost.  The staff were great - room attendant brought us ice everyday after we asked for it the first day.  Little touches like that made the trip very nice.  I would highly recommend Royal Caribbean - I would like to suggest a look at the entertainment all around on the ship though.

FANTASTIC CRUISE EXPERIENCE by KimberleyKeegan

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Jewel of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

The Jewel of the Seas was the perfect size ship for us. Even though it was full ver were lots of times that we had entire sections chairs or loungers all to ourselves. There were plenty of places you could steal away and get some alone time if that's what you needed. I don't think that a larger ship would have afforded us that luxury!

The crew was fantastic- very friendly and fun. The themed parties were very fun and were loved visiting Italy and Greece! We were not thrilled with the art auction group however.

Super experience by JLSanta

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Jewel of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

- Staff was nice all days and everywhere. Activities were awesome. My favorite was the 70's night. - The dinner staff was super. 7 of our 41 group were assign to tables far away and they arrange so we could be together from the second day. - They give us goos service and go way beyound giving tips for what to do in the islands and also very important security ones. - Jason, who cleans our room, learn my name from first day and salute me every day like he was member of my family. This is the first cruise that do not change towels if not in the floor, like the savemour waves. PERFECT score for Jason. - We love daily spanish program with Elvis (channel 33). It is a very good idea to alternate whos with him because we could know (by name) a new cruise member every day. - Having a curfew for kids and writing it on the Daily Compass magazine is another great idea. Suggestions: - could have a tv channel with tips and classes for casino. - should have a map of the ship in any room. There was one in guest relations , but was tho small to even read it. - movies in theater could be newer. Should write this other part in spanish: Durante nuestro crucero escuchamos que falleció un miembro de la tripulación.

First Cruise - Its a keeper by CruiseJD

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Jewel of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

For our first cruise we got the best. We just didn't know it at the time. The Royal Caribbean Jewel of the Seas is a fine ship, not too big but big enough to get lost in. The trip was just long enough to fully disconnect, and we had just enough delicious food and enjoyable dinners. The staff was attentive, courteous and prompt. We needed no encouragement to plan the next.
