Fell short by mlshultz60

Not up to what I've come to expext on a cruise, our fridge didn't work, our room had no AC, no sail away party of any kind, didn't even blow the horn, pop machines didn't work once the whole trip, our room attendant was GREAT, and dinning room staff very nice, people in the shops very rude, we are booked for our next cruise on the Symphony, but think we will change to another cruise line.

Great Itinerary! by chipper1072

Staff was wonderful. It is a great sized ship where it's not the smallest and has a few nicer amenities but not overcrowded as the larger ships can get.

Boring ship. Limited activities. Old ship by wantedllc

Verified Review
/ Sail Date: / Traveled As: Large Group

The activities on the ship were mainly favoring the Latin community. We were hard pressed to find any music, club or dance activities geared toward other genres. There should have been more of a balance of music and dance options across the board. This was the consensus of a large number of passengers. We actually had a meeting with the Activities director, Jerry and got no satisfaction. I dont want to ever cruise royal Caribbean again unless there are some major differences. We were bored most bights after dinner

Good time, overall. The ship is getting a little worn, carpet in hall was stained and dirty in places.

Wonderful relaxing cruise by brammie00740975

This was actually one of my top cruises. We stopped at 5 different ports and all of them were very scenic from the ship. Our room attendant, Bennett, was wonderful. The dining service and food were excellent. A special thanks to Zandro and Steve, our waiters at table 633. They catered to our every need and gave us great suggestions. All of the service on the ship was great! I would actually think about taking this trip again.

Worst Cruise on an outdated Ship EVER! by appraisers

Outdated ship with poorly trained crew, and very few of them! Crew is more interested in shore leave than taking care of customers. I had the worst bed on land or sea!

Fabulous trip! by JandTM

Even though our itinerary had to be changed from Valencia/Lisbon and the Azores to The Canary Islands and St. Maarten to avoid a storm, we had an absolutely amazing time.

Except for the poor condition of our cabin, we were very pleased and will consider other Royal Caribbean ships in the future.

Norovirus by italy53lv

After 3 days onboard a Norovirus outbreak got me very sick. I was confined to my cabin and missed tours in Athens and Mykonos. Many passengers were sick as the outbreak spread. On day 6 there was a second outbreak and many more passengers became sick. This ship has had several outbreaks in recent years. Read about it on the internet.

Fantastic Journey by mauityme1

I fortunately our ship was hit with Norovirus, the staff did contain it but there were a lot of foreigners who did not speak English and personally sanitation levels vary across different countries, so expect to be vigilant, and don’t use public restrooms, and touch anything like railings or elevator buttons

Disappointing Cruise Line by mesascootergirl

Verified Review

Tip: use Carnival Cruiselines and dont book through 3rd parties! We started off being lied to, by the representative at the time of our booking. We specifically requested that we wanted connecting rooms that share a balcony, and she told us that the state rooms we chose had this - they did not. We were told that there was a self service laundry facility on each deck so we could wash some clothes midway through the cruise - Royal Caribbean does not have self service laundry on ANY of their ships. The nightly stage shows were amateurish and boring. The tables in the Windjammer buffet dining room are filthy, and the staff washed them down between passengers without rinsing them in bleach water, so you could practically see the germs spreading. The bars, restaurants, buffet, and any other food/drink area on the ship closes early- so if you're used to being able to get something th o eat or drink at any time on a cruise, this ships not for you. There's more, but this gives you an idea. I won't be booking thru or sailing with RC again. I'm going back to Carnival where my expectations are always exceeded.

Ports of Call Superb! JEWEL OF THE SEAS ENTERTAINMENT AND SERVICE AVERAGE by FieldMartial23

Verified Review
/ Sail Date: / Traveled As: Family (older children)

This is our 2nd Royal Caribbean cruise. Plus this was our 11th or 12th cruise. Will return to Oceana or Celebrity. They both know service and entertainment. Ports of Call Superb! JEWEL OF THE SEAS ENTERTAINMENT AND SERVICE AVERAGE (NOTE: Survey should separate ship service and entertainment (stars) from ports of call! - This would provide a better metric from which to judge).

Exceeded All Expectations! by alishaoverton

Jewel of the Seas is a great ship if you are looking for something smaller in size, less crowds. It's due for more renovations in some areas - cabin furniture/fixtures. I was also surprised by some of the fees charged for things that were basics in the past - but that's the cost of business. Overall though, it was a perfect stay. Balcony room is ALWAYS the way to go if you can fit it into your budget. Waking up to a new port/destination and taking it all in from your balcony is PRICELESS. It was the best way to see the "bucket list" destinations of Italy and Greece so that you can decide which places you'd like to return to. Lastly make sure to book an excursion every day if you can so that you can get the best feel of each destination...it will make the trip that much better.
