Review summary

Had a very nice cruise on the Jewel. Fantastic itinerary. Ship is well laid out and easy to navigate. Staff were still all very friendly even with the prepaid gratuities. Food and service in the Tides was excellent. The entertainment was a little less than we expected. Don't expect to watch much of anything worthwhile except commercials on the in room TVs.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Food and service in Tides was great!

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Fitness center decent, rock wall fun, ping pong, mini golf and shuffle board available as well

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Not enough music playing during the day and limited selections at night.

Children's Programs

3 out of 5
Not too many activities done by teen club - more a hang out for the kids

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Top notch waiters, bartenders and stewards. Visit Xi in the Pt Stop for a specialty mudslide or a drink straw brain teaser.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Its an old ship but well laid out. Centrum design is very nice with 11 open floors to the lower deck. Ship had rusty spots that needed touching up.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Family of four with two teens slept comfortably - had queen size master bed, sofa pull out bed and drop down ceiling bunk bed. Got a little crowded with all the luggage though.

Ship tip

Ask for Samir and Belimn to be your wait staff in the Tides!

Do not visit the Colosseum or Vatican without booking a tour way ahead of time! You won't get in!

Went smoothly and quickly. Easy go through customs to get out of terminal. Note port is about an hour from Rome airport.
