Review summary

This was really a bucket list cruise for us. The ship was great for this trip, however we normally prefer a little larger ship. I would recommend this cruise to everyone.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
The entire process was quick and easy

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The food in the main dining room was good but not exceptional. The buffet did not rotate food each day and after 16 days it felt like I was eating at home with the same meals over and over. Giovanni’s and Chops was exceptional. We ate at each restaurant 2 times and enjoyed the best meals of the entire cruise.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
The pool was always crowded and could not find seats after 10am because of the saved seats. Saving seats is not allowing, however we never saw anyone remove the towels off unused seats. There is a lot of seating areas on the ship in the various bars and lounges to get out of the heat and just relax.

Entertainment

2 out of 5
The entertainment was good. There was a comedian and musician that were outstanding.

Movie Screen

1 out of 5

I found it very odd that a lot of the movies were children’s movies on a cruise with an average age over 70. Really disappointing that movies under the stars were Ralph breaks the Internet or the nutcracker.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The staff was friendly, attentive and outstanding.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
I found the ship very clean and the layout was easy to follow.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The stateroom was updated and clean. All suites are located on the 10th floor which is under the windjammer and pool area. We could hear the carts rolling through the windjammer 24 hours a day. It was white noise and did not bother us, but when going to bed or waking up is was annoying.

Ship tip

Smaller ship and probably not for the younger crowd. It did not have all the new features of the larger ships, but for us it was very relaxing and comfortable.

Ports of call

Cartagena, Colombia

4 out of 5
It was extremely hot and humid. Took a tour of the old town which was beautiful.

Colon, Panama

The vendors were very determined and it made me uncomfortable. We took a private taxi to the new locks and enjoyed the locks, but not the drive through the area to and from.

Panama Canal Transit

2 out of 5
Something I will never forget. It does take about 9 hours to go through completely and everyone comes and go along the railing through the day.

Puntarenas, Costa Rica

5 out of 5
Awesome port! Did a private tour to feed the monkeys, crocodile river and the rain forest. Was charged $40.00 per person and tour took 5 hours.

Puerto Quetzal, Guatemala

4 out of 5
Took a tour to Antigua which is a 90 minute driver there and another 90 minutes back and we spent about an hour and a half in the town, but I’m glad I went. It is a beautiful town. It the vendors tend to be very persistent.

Manzanillo, Mexico

4 out of 5
We got off the boat and had lunch in a small restaurant on the boardwalk.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico

5 out of 5
Loved this port. We did the tequila experience and had a great time sampling all the different tequilas and having lunch on the beach. Spent time on the malecon which was fun.

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Went to Cabo Wabo and enjoyed happy hour and great food.

Disembarkation
