Review summary

This is a great way to see a lot of ports in a short time. Although, I’ve only cruised 3 times I’m not that impressed with Royal Caribbean. I was expecting more especially in the quality and choice in food. Expecting people to pay for finer dining is ridiculous. That is part of cruising. Also, after charging $14.50 per person per day for tips don’t ask for more.

Embarkation

We were delayed and asked to sign a form after reading a statement about illness on the previous cruise. Even after boarding late we were not allowed in our stateroom.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

2 out of 5
Out of 3 cruises this was the worst food. Nothing really stood out. Due to illness on previous cruise before our departure we were not allowed to serve ourselves. We had to wait in long lines. Always had to ask for more from servers. Had to wait in aniline for drinks. Our main dining room table was next to kitchen. No view. Slow service. By the end of cruise we were the only two still attending dinner. We also bought drink packages which was a waste of money. Two soda machines that we finally got to access on our own on Thursday and both were located next to each other in Windjammer. Add more in other areas of ship. Also, food should be available all day and at least until 11-12 pm. So aggrayto want a snack and nothing available. Room service should NOT cost extra.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
We went to one show after dinner. It was ok. Played bingo once and laid out on deck above pool. Casino was good size. Wanted to watch a movie by the pool one night but they always started the movies before we could get out of dinner. Wish we could have had access to movies in our room for free. Same ones being shown on ship. TV choices were extremely limited.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Listened to music on 4th floor, at pool and attended one show.

Children's Programs

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Shon and Addie were super nice and tried but service was so slow and we constantly had to ask for more drinks. Junior did a good job on our room.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Layout is fine. Areas were constantly being sanitized due to illness concern. However, every rail, doorknob and button were always wet. It was gross.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Size was good and it was very clean. We didn’t have a bed skirt so we could see the metal legs of bed. They used the space under the bed for storage of extra linens and we were trying to use the space to store our luggage. I would think they could find other storage areas besides the cabins. Also, lots of noise at night and early in morning above us. Might want to choose a quieter area.

Ship tip

Go with a newer ship.

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
Chose to do early embarkation due to early flight. Had to wait a little longer than specified time but it went okay. Had to stand in line for 30 minutes outside.
