Review summary
We really enjoyed a couple of the island excursions, particularly snorkling on Dominica and Barbados, and the Jeep excursion on Antigua! The Whale watching excursion on Grenada was too long and should only be billed as dolphin spotting, as there are no whales that time of year to spot. The Jewel of The Seas was smaller than I expected and not quite as nice as our Carnival ship last year (The Valor). Our staterooms were much smaller even on a similar level as the Valor and the dining rooms and amenities were not as plentiful or as nice as on The Valor. We also experienced rude staff, poorly trained staff, long waits due to understaffing, many staff who did not have answers to simple questions, etc., making our overall experience not what we would expect for paying more this year with Royal than we did last year with Carnival. I will probably not try Royal Caribbean again and will not recommend it to others as well.
