Get to know all the areas. Spend time in each open area. Get to know the staff. The adults only pool and bar was awesome for swimming, games, and drinks.

if you do the full transit on this ship, it is worth the extra money to purchase a lounge chair at the rear of the ship, check it out.

I would say if you don’t like a lot of sea days this may not be the cruise for you, but if you want a relaxing cruise this is it, also remember it gets hot and humid in the Chanel.

Just remember she is a small older ship and doesn't have all the bells and whistles of the newer ships. That being said they have retroinstalled the Medallion system and that is great.

Check out room sizes for old ships like the Island Princess. If you like a lot of space, go for new ships.

Moving the fitness center to deck 6 to allow 24/7 access was the most significant change from the previous time we were on the Island Princess.

If on this ship for a northern lights cruise get a balcony room on a lower floor so you can see the lights from your balcony. Higher floors (ALoha) has an obscured view of the sky by overhanging lido deck

Do not choose this ship. It is the OLDEST and SMALLEST ship Princess has. We were told that several times by the crew. Everything in it was breaking down constantly. The bathrooms, TV, buffet drink fountains. They need to retire this ship ASAP. The poor thing has had it.
