Review summary

Very good. Really enjoyed the shows in the Princess Theatre. Excellent productions. Also enjoyed the naturalist's talks, although he is a bit full of himself. :-) If I hadn't been sick and had to visit medical and get charged a small fortune, I could have enjoyed the whole cruise a lot more.

Ship experiences

trivia; stage shows

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Excellent! The play was the best, but the other two shows were fantastic also.

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
Waiters were very attentive and did their job well, as did our room steward. However, on former Caribbean cruises on Carnival, these people knew our names, what drinks we liked, etc. Very fun to interact with. The people on the Island Princess did nothing above and beyond their duty, I feel. It would have been nice to have that little extra personal touch.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
It was difficult to decide which elevator to take to get where I needed to go, but that seems to always be the case on cruise ships. All parts of the ship were kept immaculately clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
The bed and pillows were SO very comfortable. Cabin was kept clean. However, the size was a bit small in comparison to the three Carnival balcony rooms I have had before. I was used to a 2 seat couch and a coffee table facing the TV. In the Princess cabin, we only had one chair and a very small table. This forced us to eat in the bed or at the desk. A second chair would have at least made things a bit more tolerable. Too small in comparison with Carnival!

Ship tip

I rather enjoyed the smaller ship, as the amount of people kept the whole ship less crowded.
