Review summary

Awesome sights. The boat had plenty of inside windows to look out if you didn't want to stroll the deck in the chilly wind.

If you are in the market for family portraits, buy the all inclusive package before your cruise. It's $50 cheaper. The photographers are awesome. For the cost of a mere sitting fee at home, I left the ship with approximately 175 8x10 photos and other smaller ones; plus, all the electronic copies.

Had problems with the facilities not flushing.

Ship tip

If I did this trip again I'd splurge for a balcony room. If you add a land package, do it first that way you have the first2 days at sea to relax before starting port excursions.

Way too many jewelry stores and the employees tried to pull you in. The train to the klondike was fun. The meal at Jewel gardens wasn't spectacular but at least we didnt have to decide where to have lunch and possibly fight the crowd

Juneau, Alaska

Having been to Juneau multiple times we rented a car and was able to visit places not included in excursion pkgs. Like the Shrine of St. Teresa & Jensen-Olson Arboretum. We also stopped by Mendenhall Glacier and did the Tram to Mt. Roberts.

Ketchikan, Alaska

It was very rainy. We had a great excursion guide but the excursion pictured 4-wheelers but when we got there it was golf carts. The adventure thru the forest was minimal. Since it was raining and the golf carts were covered we didn't mind, but had it been nice I would have. I may have chosen to snorkel since the wet suits would have kept me dry anyways

Got you through customs fast and organized and on to the airport. Had I known there was a bus transfer to Seattle I probably would have done since my flight took me to Seattle and I had to wait hours at the airport.
