The perfect breakaway by dnbhill1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Independence of the Seas

Overall we were very satisfied. We can't find much to complain about. However, we believe RCCL is still in the recovery mode for example no stock in RCCL store, unpredictable meals in MDR and mass confusion getting off the ship on the last day. Hopefully with time they will be up to snuff. We will see in our August sailing.

fun time on older ship by tazntom

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Independence of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

It was a short cruise for us which attracted a younger crowd which adds life to ship activities. I love Coco Cay and I'm glad Nassau has had a money infusion and the port area is being modernized, I know people will complain about getting back to ship, but that is temporary till new port building is complete.

It was a great vacation for my 40th birthday. I just wish it was a little longer. I had a perfect weekend and recommend going on the ship. Look forward to going on a cruise soon.

Nice relaxing cruise by Daisygirl55

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Independence of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

We live in Florida and cruise often. We are also retired so tend to enjoy the ship and not get off at the ports. This is a great ship to do just that. Plenty to keep us occupied or lots of quiet places if that was our preference. This is a nice sized ship. Not too small. Not to big. Just right!

This ship needs some tlc by Margie733

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Independence of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

We don't recommend sailing this ship until refurbished and fully staffed. Cleanliness is an issue. The day we came home my husband tested positive for covid.

We had so much fun!!! I definitely recommend cruising with friends if you get a chance. I love cruising in general, but including friends makes it twice as nice.

Independence OTS by LTsCrznVentures

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Independence of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Overall, I belive with capacity limits being dropped recruiting crew needs to be a focus, mainly in the bar service(s). A face-lift wouldn't hurt mainly in corridors and carpeting throughout. Port Canaveral needs to up their game up especially if they want to attract these larger ships into the fold in regards to the terminals.

One can feel the post pandemic struggle by ajlittle7

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Independence of the Seas

Our cabin was wonderful our Stewart spoiled us rotten. But we saw the crew struggling. We witnessed 2 events were staff members started arguing in the Windjammer..never ever in over 20 years of cruising has that happened. The food used to be 5*. Not anymore. No more butter at the table but awful tasting oily tasting margarine??? We went to pay the extra charge at the specialty restaurants. Chops Grill was amazing as always. The other one omg. We send the first entree back so so bad. The other food was edible but just ok. 1 hour after dinner hubby and I got very ill. We crawled of the ship the next morning. The quality of the food has changed drastically I assume there is not enough money after COVID. We have to be patient and support our cruise lines that they get back on track. For a starter: bring the butter back

Indy OTS April 2022 by bockelt

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Independence of the Seas

Wanted to get my 90 y/o Dad on a cruise, hadn't cruised for decades. We were in a suite to accommodate him, and it was great. A 3-day cruise is pretty much too short for us.
