Review summary

It was a short cruise for us which attracted a younger crowd which adds life to ship activities. I love Coco Cay and I'm glad Nassau has had a money infusion and the port area is being modernized, I know people will complain about getting back to ship, but that is temporary till new port building is complete.

Embarkation

they need to work on having people stand in line outside, I think that time is over

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
We had one mishap when we got seltzer instead of Gin & Tonic, it was corrected. We tried dinner in windjammer for the first time ever and it will be the last time ever, food just wasn't that good. My belief is since specialty dinning became a big money maker, the food in MDR has not been as good as years ago.

Viking Crown Lounge

5 out of 5

One night about 11:30 we were wondering where all the people were, well we went up to the Viking Crown and we found a party atmosphere with DJ cranking out toons the crowd was having a ball. Got served drinks without much wait.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
We had a near full ship, so pools were crowded but we found space just no chairs nearby. Plenty of action in main pool, cruise director Rick kept things jumping.

Diamond Club

5 out of 5

This is a great place to meet like people and compare experiences. Shuya Yan the Concierge was always moving about talking to everyone and was there midafternoon to help me with an issue I had.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Shows were good, I especially enjoyed when the cast of Grease performed in the Schooner bar.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We found the staff which might have had many new crew members to be helpful and friendly. I had a problem with my eyeglasses and Noor from one of the shops took out his trusty tool kit and made a repair which allowed me to continue enjoying my cruise.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
I really enjoyed this class of ship and even though its age showed, like not having USB ports in cabin and wear and tear on top deck (mini golf and a kids swing). The main areas were all clean although did not see as many crew wiping rails as I did on my February cruise.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
loved the cabin, a bit of a walk from elevators but quiet and although it's listed an obstructed view cabin, I truly enjoyed sitting outside watching the wake as we sailed away. Again, no USB ports and curtain was a bit worn. A different view from side outside balconies.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

4 out of 5

Nassau, Bahamas

4 out of 5
This port is not your Father's Nassau much work is going into changing port area, it now docks 6 ships and Margaritaville while pricy is the new face of Nassau. Give it another year and you won't recognize it.

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

5 out of 5
I love chill island and a good chicken sandwich from snack shack, too much work for me to climb all those steps on water slides.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
better than I had at Ft. Lauderdale, Canaveral had facial recognition before bag pickup, and I think that helped a lot
