Review summary

We don't recommend sailing this ship until refurbished and fully staffed. Cleanliness is an issue. The day we came home my husband tested positive for covid.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
There was nothing special about any of the meals in the main dining room. .

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The mini golf was fun.

Entertainment

Did not go to any entertainment venues

Children's Programs

No children

Service and Staff

3 out of 5
The dining room staff was great. Bar service was very slow as they were short staffed. We think our cabin steward came down with covid because we didn't see her the last 2 days. She had left her card in our room and someone crossed out her name and wrote in a different name...no more towel animals.

Ship Quality

1 out of 5
Tables in the bars were not sanitized after each use. We walked up to some bar tables that were sticky although the little sign that said they had been cleaned for our use. The ship is in need of a major refurbishment. The walls were dirty and in need of repainting. We noticed a lot of areas where there were major cracks in grouting. Having lunch in the buffet one day around 1:00 a maintenance worker came out of one of the kitchen areas carrying some very large dirty wooden object. Not a nice sight to see while eating. That is the kind of thing that most cruiselines frown upon.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Nice size cabin. The bed was comfortable. The cabin was clean when we had assigned cabin steward. The replacement just dumped trash and made the bed.

Ship tip

Reschedule until after it goes through a refurbishment

Disembarkation

Not well executed. It was a free for all.

Unfortunate that your husband developed Covid. Just fortunate for you that you were able to stay healthy. The older ships tend to cost less because they are not updated. Maybe try a larger , newer one. Be Well.

Thanks for the review. Most ships currently have positive Covid cases per the CDC website. Cruising and living with Covid is something we are all going to have to get used to.

A lot of reviews of the same cruise were all 5 stars. Also, a so-called dirty ship does not cause covid.
