I know. This is an expensive cruise but for us it was worth it. I highly recommend saving up as we are to do it again.

Fancy ship, value isn't there by frostytips

Ship: Icon of the Seas

Cool new ship but I won't be on it again anytime soon. Extremely expensive to get aboard and then you just keep shelling out more money.

B2B Inaugural on Icon of the Seas by seacruiser92

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Icon of the Seas

I'm not a fan of the ship exterior, but the ship interior is gorgeous. I love how you can see out into the ocean from the Royal Promenade and Central Park. The Pearl is absolutely stunning, and the destination elevators are fabulous. All the different food options are a huge increase from the oasis class. I'm not a fan of the Aqua dome over the Aqua Theater and obviously the amount of unruly kids that this ship attracts. I definitely recommend this ship if you have a family or don't mind kids, but this ship is not for me.

What a wonderful cruise but people everywhere and costly by kyle2007

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Icon of the Seas

My family voted to try a large new mega ship and choose this cruise. The price for a interior room was a bit higher than we paid for our last balcony cruise but we all wanted to try a new large ship. The Icon was defiantly a Icon and was very cool inside. The Pearl was amazing and one of my favorite parts as well as the huge pool. The room was a bit too warm for us but otherwise was comfortable for three. The food was ok but not great at least for the free options. We tried one extra charge restaurant, hooked seafood, and the food was great but pricy. The ship was very colorful with lots of greens and yellows. The main negative I have is the crowds. My vacation did not feel like a vacation to me having to always deal with lines and crowds. We still did not learn the ship by the time we got off but we all agree these mega ships are not for us. Very nice and lots to do but just too many people. We waited so long for elevators, lines for food, lines for pool towels, lines for everything. Think Disney on July 4.

Ship: Icon of the Seas

Anticipating this maiden voyage for almost two years, it was all we hoped for. Yes, the most expensive balcony room we have ever booked, but enjoyed every minute. Be sure to book your entertainment, you will be impressed. As stated before..Icons got it right!

Beautiful Ship by TW1225

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Icon of the Seas

The ship is gorgeous with so many options for everyone. This would be an excellent ship for a cruise to nowhere. Book your shows early and make dining reservations as soon as you can to try the specialty restaurants. Wake up early and go to bed late so you can enjoy as much as possible. If you’ve been to a port consider staying onboard to enjoy more of the ship to yourself.

Fantastic Time on the Icon! by graytimes

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Icon of the Seas

We really enjoyed our time on the ICON of the Seas. This ship is great for families with children, but there is something for everyone. It has raised the bar on entertainment. The weather was a bit chilly while we were onboard, so we didn't spend much time sitting on deck, but this didn't take away from our enjoyment. There was so much to do onboard that we were able to keep busy - maybe even too busy! ;-)

Doesn’t feel as big as it is by Itrvlfar

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Icon of the Seas

Overall the ship is gorgeous and very well laid out. The most ingenious new addition is the elevator technology. Use the kiosk to pick your floor and it tells you which elevator bay to wait at. Enter and it takes you there nonstop or one stop. No more pressing buttons, waiting for ages. Super quick and very efficient! Each of the neighborhoods keeps guests spread out so it never really feels crowded. Great for families and multi-generational groups!

This ship has it all. Fun for the whole family by bpiazza73

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Icon of the Seas

One of the best cruises I ever been on. Ship is massive and didn't feel crowed. By far the best elevators system I ever seen. More than enough elevators to go around, very little to no waiting. They also have escalators on this ship which was nice. So much to do. Great pools, public areas, bars, restaurants, they did a great job with this ship.

Excellent Quickie Cruise by ccross7

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Icon of the Seas

Icon is a truly incredible ship. The 7 pools are great and seemed to really help spread people out. Despite up to 7,000 passengers, I dont think the ship will ever have an overcrowded crowded feel, even at capacity. All the shows were fabulous. Royal is back on top in my book!
