Review summary

Great trip overall, just annoyed at how often time the pool was closed due to kids vomiting or pooping. It’s out of control.. but just don’t let it bother you! I just made sure I had a drink always in my hand.

Embarkation

Easy, on within 15 mins from parking and this was at 12:00pm

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Pearl cafe was amazing small bits and sandwiches with amazing views of the ocean with the floor to ceiling windows. MDR was amazing food and great service. We had the 5:00pm booking but would show up around 5:45pm. You don’t necessarily need to be there right at 5:00pm. The aquadome food hall was amazing. The Mediterranean food was great, and the crepes were our favorite. Wasn’t very long lines to get the food either. The 1400 drink at the 1400 bar is amazing. With a cool bubble on top.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
I feel like this ship was missing one large pool considering that this is a family ship and almost every day atleast one pool got closed for a kid vomiting or pooping. I have been on 10 cruises and not one do I remember pools closing left and right! The lounge area across the large pool is pointless imo because at times no one was on there. I counted 75 people inside the large pool on a sea day and that large pool was closed twice during this cruise. So when the large pool closes a lot of those people go to the swim up bar or cloud 17 pool. And then those pools are literally shoulder to shoulder.

Entertainment

Aqua show is impressive and wizard of oz! We even went to a show with the superhero’s and we were even impressed with that show. Coolest part was the drones doing the light shows. Sound and lights were top tier

Children's Programs

My 6 year old daughter loved adventure ocean. She did arts and crafts or video games.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Amazing service all around, no complaints, we had Arya has our stateroom attendant and he was awesome.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The design is fantastic, you can see the ocean almost everywhere on the ship. The design of the aquadome is so cool! Glass everywhere and with amazing sunset views here. Also, best old fashioned can be found at the coffee bar in aquadome. Royal promenade being two decks was cool! Easy to cross over between aft and fwd and they even have a stair case from Royal promenade deck 6 to Central Park.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Spacious, lots of storage and outlets! The seat in the shower is a complete game changer!

Ship tip

Book the shows in advanced, I witnessed the standby lines for some shows and they were long!

Ports of call

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

5 out of 5
Went to Cococay for half day starting at 1:30pm to enjoy the free water park on board with no lines! Cococay was quieting down by the time we went to the island. Pool was fun! Food was great!

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
5 mins, face recognition and no passport needed

this is why I'm glad carnival has a policy of no unpotty trained children allowed in pools. out of 42 cruises, only once did they have to close a pool due to a child vomiting (which, that's hard to control)

I definitely think there should be pools and hot tubs where kids aren’t allowed. Too often I hear about closings because of kids pooping .
