DON'T over book your activities. With that said: Make reservations to shows on your cruise planner as soon as you are allowed. Usually it's 90 days before your cruise. If you forgot, make your reservations on the 'RoyaliQ kiosk areas as so ok n as you board. Arrive 15-20 minutes early to those reserved shows to get the best seats. Also, eat at the solarium bistro for a quick buffet style breakfast or lunch, it's always less crowded than the windjammer. They also have a daily buffet sit-down lunch in the main dinning room.

Try to set a preferred dining time any way you can, especially when sailing with children or it could ruin your cruise.
