My advice to anyone considering to sail on Harmony of the sea is rethink it the cost of the boat is not worth going I found myself flustrated a lot of the time because of the overcrowdedness Royal Caribbean boats have never been this crowded prior to this one
Avoid this ship if interested in the peaceful serenity of the sea... It's a mobile bar, restaurant and super mall. quiet spaces don't exist. Even room service comes with a fee.. You are nickel and dimed to death.. Check out Oceania and Seabourn and Vilking for cruising as It should be, and when all is said and done==the cost is not that significantly higher than what you will end up spend on this moving city... Best time to be on ship is when it's visiting a port and most of the passenger on on shore... (this was my 19th cruise-speaking from experience)
The WOW Bands are not worth it. I bough the band so that I did not have to keep taking my Sea Pass Card out and when I ordered drinks most of the waitstaff asked for my Sea Pass Card anyways. I understand why because if they have multiple drink orders they still have to take your band to scan it and there is a potential that the bands can get mixed up. Also my band kept splitting around the sensor area and after returning it twice for a replacement I asked for a refund. I feel a lanyard with a clear pouch to hold your Sea Pass is the best way to go.
Reserve the shows in advance, to make sure you get into to see them. I also highly recommend the dining packages as an economical way to get better food and better service than the MDR.
It’s beautiful ship! Enjoy it as much as u can. We did Jamaica and I would recommend to stay on the ship in Jamaica. Nothing to do there. We did resort for the day which was nice but not worth to pay such money. Also do t bring a lot of stuff, rooms are small. And try restaurants, they give u discount and food is excellent! Also do drink package!
We have mild rough seas most of the sailing. Room 14550 was in front and felt the rolling back and forth. We did have ScopDerm patches without any problems with seasick. Large ship to walk the length. I would pay extra to get a room Mid-ship.
I have cruised 30 + times with different lines. I did not like the Harmony of the Seas. The ship is beautiful but it is to large and to many passengers. You felt like you had to fight for everything, ie a place to sit for breakfast or lunch at the buffet. You had to fight to get into the theater for events that you have already made reservations for. You had to get up early to find a seat on the pool deck on sea days. I would not duplicate this ship or another one this size.
Make sure to reserve everything you can prior to sailing. Search on the web for a recent past cruise compass to get an idea of show times and use it to reserve dining times.
