Review summary

Took my wife along with my family on the boat boasting about Royal Caribbean experience my family and I have had in the past I couldn't have been more disappointed the Royal Caribbean should have stopped when they made the Allure that was the peak of their boats everything is downhill after that meaning harmony. I can't say it enough times the overcrowdedness of the boat makes the experience overall extremely disappointing

Embarkation

5 out of 5
We were there very very early

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The main dining room was overcrowded and Extremely Loud you had to shout across the table just to have a conversation with your party the service however was excellent. Every time we went to the Windjammer it was nearly impossible to find a place to sit again overcrowded

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Too many unsupervised children cutting into lines constantly makes it extremely hard for everyone to enjoy what the boat has to offer the Royal Caribbean needs to better supervise the activities

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Only attended two shows one show issues arose with several French Canadian people could have really used a Royal Caribbean person there to step in things were getting out of hand with these people was not able to enjoy the show because of this issue

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
The service and staff were as excellent as they could be this boat has way way way too many people aboard everything was a long wait

Ship Quality

5 out of 5

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Small cabin had to pay more but thank God for an ocean view

Ship tip

My advice to anyone considering to sail on Harmony of the sea is rethink it the cost of the boat is not worth going I found myself flustrated a lot of the time because of the overcrowdedness Royal Caribbean boats have never been this crowded prior to this one

Ports of call

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

4 out of 5

San Juan, Puerto Rico

1 out of 5
We never got to go to the port although it was on the original itinerary very disappointed

Labadee (Cruise Line Private Island)

1 out of 5
We never got to go to the port although it was on our original itinerary very disappointed

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
We left very very very early in order to avoid the crowd of people

Did the ship change its course due to an approaching storm or was there another reason for not enjoying beautiful San Juan? Here's hoping your next cruise is a great one and thank you for sharing your family's cruise experience. Bon Voyage!

O went on Harmony 11/24 And will be goi my back in Feb. It never felt crowded to us. We never had an issue finding a table or chair around the pool. The ship is amazing!!! We loved it and can't wait to go again!!!!

I have been on the Harmony twice, December 10, 2016, and September 2, 2017, and never felt that the ship was crowded. Can't wait to go again, April 21, 2018.

Was on harmony for Thanksgiving. Never felt crowded to me. Loved everything about it.

What do you expect when you go on a huge ship with over 6 thousand people on it not including the crew.. Think of all the great stuff they have to enjoy on that ship. If you don't want to wait go on a small ship like freedom of the sea.

My wife and I have been on the Harmony and Oasis in the past year. We never felt it was crowded but we were not interested in the pools or laying in the sun. The overall design and the number of elevators made it very comfortable for the number of people. We don’t expect things to go super fast and never stress out when we had to wait for 5-10 minutes - much more enjoyable when you are patient and relax

I felt the same about the crowds on Harmony. Oasis for some reason seemed to be less crowded but Harmony was awful. We’re on Allure in June so that will be an interesting comparison.

That is a shame!

There is a difference between a boat and a ship. Now you know you do not like this style of ship and can plan any future cruise vacations according to what size and age of ship you like. Unfortunately it takes a couple cruises on some clunkers to get an idea of what on enjoys and what I hates in a cruise ship. I wish you better luck on any future cruises.
