New England, Canada by BillandPatti

the best part of this cruise was Canada and the entertainment.  Every night the entertainment was very enjoyable.  The staff was very friendly and helpful.  The excursions in Boston and Portland were not very good.  We did the freedom walking tour in Boston, most of the time we couldn't hear our guide and he gave wrong  historical facts quite a few times.  We got off the ship in Portland and had to be back on about 3:30.... It was Sunday and hardly anything opened i.e.; museum, Longfellow house or Victorian house till 11:00, 12:00 or 1:00. We ended up having an early lunch, waiting for things to open then only having time to do one thing. We also had 4 separate plumbing problems which we handled quickly. I bought the soda package and it stopped working 2 days before the end of our trip. I tried to refill and the machine would say, no more refills available . It wasn't real convenient either.

This was our first cruise, and we had a great time. Bermuda was fabulous and the crew of the ship couldn't have been more attentive. i only wish we'd booked a longer one. 5 Stars!

Grandeur of the Seas 5 nights to Bermuda by lorrainehill

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

Loved our trip!  The ship could use an overhaul, showing it's age.  Would have liked to be in Bermuda for a bit longer, stop was less than 24 hours....  Bermuda is beautiful, terrific beaches!

Grandeur is getting old! by dkbotterb

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

Easy access to the port in Baltimore.  (Wish there were more.)  Parking was right at the docks, at a reasonable price.  The Bermuda destination was lovely.  Great beaches!  Good service on-board.

The pool (outside) is inadequate  for the number of passengers.  More time in Bermuda would have been nice.

I've been on Grandeur twice and both times there were engine troubles that slowed the ship down significantly. (Makes you wonder...might be time for an over-haul!

Our favorite part of the cruise were the entertainment on the boat. The cruise offered numerous shows and check the guest entertained. I would definitely use Royal Caribbean in the future for cruise vacations

Wonderful time on Grandeur of the Seas by coylebj

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

Great Gatsby Main Dining Room:  Head waiter very understanding to gluten-free eaters and brought multiple gluten-free desserts to our table for us to sample.  Delicious!

Staterooms on Deck 3:  Carpet looks worn

Stateroom Bathroom Deck 3:  Remodeled and looks great

Crew Members:  All very friendly and had ready smiles for the guests.  FUN!

Absolutely had a great time! by FirstCrusier

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

Enjoyed the Great Gatsby Dining nightly very much, although had less time to just relax at the pool as we need to wash up and dress nicer for the formal dining. However, the food is so worth it, just prepare to gain a pound or two after 5 days. We then went to the shows after dinner, pretty good shows. My teenage children went to night club and karaoke, we all had fun.

The Windjammer lunch buffet could be crowded, needed to to look for tables most of the time. Food there was okay but not impressive.

I would absolutely recommend this cruise vacation to friends and family.

Excellent Cruise by CuriseLover

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

I had good time at the Grandeur of the Seas cruise, excellent trip!

The only thing is that I feel some unfairness for some staff who worked very hard to bring enjoyment to us, but not recognized. For example, Andre Miller had created so many fun programs, and he should be senior staff member, but his name and photo does not appear on the Staff Board.

Hope the mistake will be corrected.

Thanks!

I Do Not Recommend to ANYONE!!!!! by jop1019

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

Since this was a 50th Wedding Anniversary Cruise, we wanted special, more intimate dining. So, on the first night, in the Main Dining Room, we asked for a table for 2 (this option was not available on the registration form, only which seating we wanted.) we were told we had to take the table assigned because there were none left. We then went to the "My Time" Dining Room and were told that they couldn't seat us because we already had an assigned seat in the Main Dining Room. We then went to "Customer Service" and were told they couldn't help us either and made no effort to try to accomodate us. Since we were NOT WELCOME in the Dining Room (or My Time Dining Room) on the first night, we chose to eat in our room or in the Windjammer the ENTIRE Cruise.  There is such a limited menu for room service, there is hardly a choice and it ALWAYS came cold. (We still tipped generously) The Windjammer, with a few exceptions, offers the same tasteless, mixed up foods, many of which were frozen foods. There is no service of any kind at The Windjammer.  The drinks are so watered down, that you can't even recognize them as tea or lemonade.  We got a pre-paid soft drink package for my husband but the 3 Coke and Diet Coke dispensing machines were often empty.  The Tee Shirt Sale on the last day was extremely disorganized, crowded, HOT and slow. The embarking and disembarking procedures were very fast and well organized. The ONLY service we received was from our room attendant, Anneyi.  She was awesome. We have been on many cruises on other lines and this is the 3rd RCCL cruise we have taken and have had very good experiences with all but this one. I definitely would not recommend this cruise.

Great family time, OK cruise. by sunny569741479

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

The service in the dining room was great. The ship is showing its age. There were very few bar waiters on the ship. The ship intermittently smelled of sewage , and diesel fuel.

We were in a juinor suite on the back of the ship. Great, huge balcony. The balcony became covered with large pieces of ash and debris that would stain. The ash was too large to have come from cigarettes. It either came from the incinerator or the engine exhaust.

The worse part of the 7th floor cabin was the crew lounge that was on the fourth floor, outside. It was very loud with dance music until 0200. On balcony it was as if the dj was right next to us. The bass was very loud in the room. We called to. Complain, but they didn't address it. And this was a lounge for crew only. Don't  get a Jr suite.

Great Itinerary, Great Crew by wtaboas

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

Really enjoyed the cruise.  It is one of the smaller ship in the RCCL, but it feels intimate and very personal service.  I traveled with wife, son and his girlfriend.  We all enjoyed the cruise very much, Food was great and Service was exceptional.  Highly recommend.

Great cruise except for Bathroom by jafinn99

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

My favorite part of the cruise was the food, entertainment, and cabin service.  The worst part of the cruise was the bathroom and beds.  The bathroom in a so-called "large" oceanview cabin was small and the shower stall was even smaller.  The longer twin beds sunk in the middle.  After the first night, I woke up each night with a sore back and legs.  Only after I returned home did I realize my pain was due to the beds in the cabin.  After my first night sleeping in my own bed at home, my pain disappeared.

Happy staff and fellow cruisers by lkellyca

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

The downsides of a smaller ship were predictable....crowded buffet and pool, but the happy staff made up for it. Everyone who works on the ship is proud of it. The pride was infectious. LaToya who runs the on-board Starbucks is a goddess. Shout out to her...

Excellent Cruise Experience on Grandeur of the Seas by ellieforgach

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

Favorites:

Food in Great Gatsby dining room was excellent and also appreciated the many choices in the Windjammer Café

Thoroughly enjoyed all the shows & entertainment, especially the comedians; Paul & Andre were excellent in their roles; their enthusiasm was contagious

Service was excellent including wait staff & stateroom attendants

Improvements suggested:

Offerings at the Solarium Café (Park Café) were a little disappointing

Self-serve beverage dispensers with complimentary iced tea & lemonade were often empty, especially lemonade was often not available/not refilled on a regular basis

Poor choice on location of QUEST game - venue was too small & not able to accommodate everyone who wanted to attend.  I saw people leaving because they couldn't find a spot to sit/stand & heard many comments about 'overcrowding'.

Bermuda in July by teriincary

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

Bermuda is beautiful with the amazing warm aqua waters, pink sand and changes in terrain.  The island is very clean and safe.  People are very friendly and laid back.  There is no pushy natives attempting to sell their goods.  That said, the weather in July is hot and humid.  Food, transportation and shopping are very expensive.  Fish and Chips at a local outdoor tavern runs about $25.

The ship got into port around 1 pm and left the next day at 2 pm.  There was not a true full day to enjoy the island.  I took a mini van tour the 1st day and went to the beach the 2nd day.  This cruise ship is one of RCL's oldest although rooms have been updated.  It was small and outdoor pool and deck was very crowded especially with children.  I would guess they don't have many activities to keep children entertained so it is up to parents and other guests.  The solarium is adults only but the roof is glass and does not open so there is absolutely no breeze in there.  It felt like being in a greenhouse.

Great Cruise from a Convenient Port by TampaCruiser21

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

It was great to drive 20 minutes and hop on board a great ship like Grandeur of the Seas. From the moment we entered the parking lot until we left 10 days later, the experience was seamless and pleasurable.

The crew and staff of the Grandeur are experienced professionals. Captain Ante has done a great job of running a very good ship. He was very engaged and has done a great job.

The entertainment and food was excellent. The ports were interesting and the tours provided were extensive and educational. The cruise lecturer - Bill Rickett - provided enjoyable lectures.

I will definitely go on another cruise on the Grandeur and will recommend to friends and family.

Grand cruise! by fladdair4502

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Grandeur of the Seas / Destination: Bermuda

This was our first cruise and we were not disappointed!  I am having a hard time saying what was our favorite part because it was amazing from start to finish. The service from the crew was terrific, we felt like royalty. The food was outstanding!  The shows and entertainment were great! We did have trouble getting to a couple because they didn't work with our dining time.  The port of Nassau was not our favorite place but Bermuda and Cococay were beautiful and fun!!  Not only would I recommend Royal Carribean for the best cruise line and the Grandeur of the Seas the best ship, but I am hoping we get to cruise with her again!!!!
