Review summary

Great cruise enjoyed all the ports of call and had a great time with my wife to celebrate our anniversary.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
This was the easiest embarkation I have ever been apart of. Walked right through security and the check in. Then waited maybe 10 minutes before was on board the ship.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Food was pretty good, but did not care for some of the sauce they put on steaks. Salty Dog was great eat there about once a day.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5

Entertainment

3 out of 5
If you did not go to the main show then you had nothing to do at night. Wish they had more of a variety of shows in different locations.

Children's Programs

Did not travel with kids.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The crew was really nice and did anything to help you.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship was clean in all the public areas. You could tell the ship was 21 years old. In place you could see carpet coming up and just other aging stuff.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Bed was extreme comfortable, plenty of room in the cabin, and loved to view for the balcony.

Ship tip

This is a good ship for someone who has never cruised before very easy layout.

5 out of 5
Great port went on the train ride, dog sled, and gold panning.

Cruise Glacier Bay

5 out of 5
Great place to seat on balcony and just look at the beautiful trees and glaciers.

Sitka, Alaska

5 out of 5
Very cool town nice to see all the Russian influence on some of the designs of the building.

Victoria, British Columbia

5 out of 5
Went on a hop on hop off. Got to port at 7 am and was off the ship at 8 am, but nothing in town open till 9. So had nothing to do for an hour. Wish they would have told us that.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
It was a very easy disembarkation.

So just curious. According to the Princess website, the SaltyDog isn’t on the Grand. Was it recently added?

Embarkation at SF is the best I’ve encountered. Simple and quick.
