We became Royal Caribbean Diamond Plus on this incredible cruise by mikemcdonald62

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Eastern Caribbean is our favorite itinerary. Living just outside of New Orleans, we're always surprised how much Old San Juan reminds us of the French Quarter.

Amazing Cruise by khaismom25

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Had a rocky and unnecessarily expensive start BUT the actual cruise was well worth all of the headache we went through trying to get on the ship...

Cruising is Back on Freedom of the Seas! by christhecruiser

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Cruises are back! Yes there are few temporary protocols but the experience is just as you remember. If you can get on a cruise in the next few months you will get a near normal experience with low crowd count.

Back to the sea by Den75

Non vaccinated guest are not allowed off the ship at certain ports. Coco Cay was really nice with great beach areas, food, and drinks.

Beautiful ship, great stops. Island time is the best time. by CoryMarble

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We were not expecting such high taxi prices and had to get more cash several times. Other than that, it was a beautiful and perfect vacation to celebrate my daughters graduation.

Fabulous ports of call by Cruiseluver95

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

5 ports in 7 days equals great value. Aside from a bad seaday lunch experience, it was a great cruise with friends to some great ports of call!

New experience by kek1918

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Western Mediterranean

I liked the feeling of waking up to a new and exciting site every morning. A start of a new day with breakfast brought to you on your balcony was splendid. Much better than the morning we tried a crowded and heartattacking start at the restaurant.

The best time of our lives by Jakell2601

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Europe - Mediterranean

My favourite place on this cruise was by far ROMA.

But honestly the entire experience was like a dream come true. I will defiantly be booking with Royal Caribbean again soon.

Food was exquisite and every member of the staff made you feel special. (Especially Gregory the barman in the casino).

Shore excursion was too rush by konaniaheddy

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean

We love the activities on board (although it was not as many as our previous Monarch of the Seas cruise), the cruise director was funny and very entertaining. The crews were friendly and helpful as well. Our room was well cleaned, our state room attendant was very attentive to us, we can easily requested anything and will be provided in short time (we did not requested weird things, just extra pillows).

The port of calls were not all very interesting, like Costa Maya where we were docked at a tourist ports where souvenirs were sold 5 times more expensive than the one sold at Mahahual (which also a tourists area for locals and cruises' passengers anyway). Grand Cayman was the best port of calls according to us. While in Cozumel, we did not get any chances to enjoy the city (which lead this comment to other review regarding shore excursion), we decided to book a shore excursion to Cichen Itza (took a 45 minutes ferry rides times 2 because we need to get back with the same ferry to the port, then a very long road trips to get there almost 2 hrs to get there plus 2 hrs to get back, plus the traffic), we paid about $260 for two persons and we only had 35 minutes to enjoy the huge place, yes we were in a "sprint" tour. It was the worst money spent here. Then we rushed back to the port to get the ferry back to the ship. We learned one thing that it is better to get a shore excursion at the ports that from the ship (more cheaper and more options).

Overall, we still had so much fun on-board and off-shore, so we think it's still fair enough to give 4 out of 5 for overalls experience with our recent Freedom of the Seas cruise.

Awesome Cruise by TimJoyceHigh

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Do not be afraid to sail during hurricane season.  The water was the calmest we ever sailed on and the weather was warm and skies sunny.  Royal Caribbean's island, Coco Cay was beautiful.  Lots of beach area and chairs to relax.

Great room and itinerary by williamcate

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We booked the Presidential suite Room 6006 in the aft of the boat.  There were 8 of us and it cost the same as if we all book separately AND we all got into the concierge lounge every night.  Concierge service is the ultimate in helpfulness.

A lot of comments were that the balcony did not over look the water.  That is in fact not true, altho there is a deck that protrudes 25 feet beyond the railing.  It did not take away fro the deck experience.  The balcony is about 50 fifty feet wide and 800 square feet - the size of 4-5 cabins.  It boasts a hot tub, bar and a dining table for 10 people comfortably.

We would definitely book it again.

Loved it! by jakeaaron

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

My first cruise and I did not know what to expect.  It was awesome!  Tons of activities, lots to do, and the food was amazing!!!  Our waiter did a great job taking care of us, not an easy task as we have some food allergies, but he made sure the food was prepared so allergies were not an issue.  The cruise director was very funny and the entertainment was top notch.  Can't wait to cruise again!

Wish it never ended by not2sweet87

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I will say the only negative thing we experienced was not being able to go to Mexico; we understand when a child is sick rules need to be followed- but it's still upsetting that we had to turn around instead of them getting a helicopter. I will say this was the best cruise we've been on (we've been on 2 others before this one). The shows were great and the food was amazing (let's say my husband and I both gained weight). They had tons of excursions to choose from and the ship itself had a lot to do too!
