Review summary

Had a rocky and unnecessarily expensive start BUT the actual cruise was well worth all of the headache we went through trying to get on the ship...

Embarkation

3 out of 5
It was a bit chaotic. I am vaccinated and much to my surprise I had to pay $105 (per person) for COVID testing before we were allowed to board. I read so much literature trying to make sure we met COVID and citizenship guidelines but somehow missed still needing to test negative before boarding the ship. PLEASE DON'T MAKE MY SAME MISTAKE!!!

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The food was exquisite. Many lovely choices, easy to tailor to your own budget.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The ship has so much going on...casino, bars (excellent bartenders), hot tub, spa, fitness center with classes, rock climbing, shuffle board, basketball court, water slide. So many things to choose from...so much fun!!!

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Broadway style shows, ice shows, game shows, live bands, DJs, excellent performances, LGBTQ activities, singles meet and greets...even a HUSH style dance party. Mickey is the best cruise director!!! It is something to do for EVERYBODY!!!

Children's Programs

5 out of 5
Thoroughly enjoyed it and cannot wait to go back.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Our stateroom attendant, Joseph, was the absolute best!!! We adore him. So kind to us and kept our room absolutely beautiful.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
We loved everything about Freedom of the Seas!!!

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
I was pleasantly surprised by the size of our cabin. Rooms tend to be slightly cramped on-board but our room was pretty well spaced.

Ship tip

Sit back, relax, and enjoy. Prepare for the best days of your life and just know you'll be sad when it's time to go.

Perfect Day At Coco Cay, Bahamas

5 out of 5
Souvenirs are waaaay too pricey. If you're going to the Bahamas also (unless you just want something that says CoCo Cay) save some money and purchase at Nassau locations. Chill Island is nice and quiet but if you want a party head over to the Oasis. It was LIVE!!! SplashAway is great for the kiddos too.

Nassau, Bahamas

Carry cash and watch your budget! From the time your feet hit the island until you leave the natives will be in full hustle mode. There was also a lot of construction going on so be careful. We didn't do any excursions yet still had a full day. Atlantis was beautiful and the waters of Cabbage Beach were almost mesmerizing. Such beautiful water...

Surprised you missed the testing mandate, but you were fortunate to get tested at he pier

Appreciate your feedback. I’m surprised you missed the testing requirement with all the frustration and complaining done on the site 😳. Glad you enjoyed cruise and didn’t let that situation ruin your adventure.

It’s a shame you missed the two day prior testing mandate. But love your attitude in general! Glad you enjoyed
