Embarkation: Easy! Arrived 11:00 after short... by MammaB209

Sail Date: /

Embarkation: Easy! Arrived 11:00 after short walk (15 mins) from Hyatt Place. Handed luggage to porters and we were on the ship within 15 minutes. Food: Windjammer was typically crowded and food was ok for a buffet. Crowds made it a bit of a challenge to find a table for a party of 6. Leonardo’s dining room food was good. Learned that we enjoyed having breakfast and lunch in the main dining room. Much easier to find a seat and more relaxing. Loved that there was both a buffet and menu options. Have seen lots of bad reviews for Sorrento’s pizza but we did not find it to be that bad. Service: We had two staterooms with different attendants. Both attendants aimed to please although both had very different styles. One was stealth like and would be in and out and we hardly saw him. The other was more visible in the halls. Our servers (Narby and Shelina) in the dining room were AMAZING! Loved them! They went above and beyond to ensure we had an great experience. Their head waiter was also extremely helpful and friendly. They had us feel like we were their top priority! Ship: We had two adjoining staterooms with balconies (8518 and 8520). The room was clean and everything functioned properly. I was impressed to see regular maintenance being performed around the ship. Something was always being washed, painted, varnished, or tested every day. Disembarkation: Vacation is over so we were already sad! This was our only imperfect experience. Because we have different cabin stewards, both rooms had different disembarkation groups. This is a problem because our kids were scheduled to leave an hour before us (and had different waiting area). It took over 24 hours and two attempts to correct this situation. Our cabin steward ended up resolving late Friday (he got us more stickers for later group). We waited comfortably. our time was between 9:40 and 10:00 we were out by 9:50. I was not prepared to be attacked by porters wanting to assist for a tip. At first we resisted but ended up agreeing because they had priority with customs. We were out the door within 10- 15 minutes. Photos: Purchased the photo package with CD and all photos. Was very pleased with the package. Was not aware that we had to find photos daily to ensure that they all made it onto CD. This was due to the fact that many photographers did not have a laptop to scan our card. They said that the photos would be found with facial recognition but we did not find that to be the case. We were able to get all photos onto CD but were surprised that we had to work on our package (especially because we waited until Tuesday to start to look for everything). This is not a complaint - it is purely sharing my experience to help another person in the same situation. Lesson learned: if you purchased photo CD check photos daily! Only 363 more days until we get to do this again! ❤️🛳

We just got off the... by galantecruise

Sail Date: /

We just got off the ship yesterday! (I’m still swaying!) We sure had a great time! We had a balcony room (7250) and the rooms are definitely ready for an overhaul but they were clean and comfortable. I thought the food in the MDR was probably the best we’ve had as far as cruise food goes. Windjammer was busy and ok for buffet food. We always found a seat and I’m not that fussy to let crowds or the food upset me. (Just eat it and shut up! 🤣). Sorentos was good for a quick bite and Cafe Promenade was good. The staff was super friendly as at the pool you never had to get up and get a drink! The waiters and bartenders were amazing! Such hard workers! Try the frozen mojitos! Trust me! We booked all excursions through RC...better for us to be safe than sorry! Aruba we did DePalm island and had a blast...great snorkeling! Curaçao we just got off the boat and went to town...wish we would have gone to a beach though. Bonaire we did the southern tour and went to the resort Delfins beach resort! It was gorgeous and the tour was fabulous but it was an open air bus so it was hard to hear...we had a gormet lunch which was good but fancy. St Marten we did the Maho Beach airport experience. That place is a cluster but we rented chairs and ended up having a good time! The beach was crowded that water was nice and we got to see some planes land! It was an awesome experience and it was on my 16 yr old sons bucket list! He wants to be a pilot! We shopped really quickly at the pier and it was nice shopping, We disembarked like a breeze...getting a porter is the key! He got us a cab,..we had 7 people but we cruised with friends so when we ate dinner on the ship there were 11 of us! Our dinner was at 6 and Dwi and July were fabulous never had to wait! And July kept bringing me frozen mojitos so I was happy!! I can’t say enough about the staff! Richard our room attendant was wonderful and sweet! Overall it was a great time and don’t sweat the small stuff! I forgot to mention PR! We flew in the day before and stayed at the Doubletree which we booked through the ship...it was nice and everyone was friendly! Went to the El Marro(sp?) fort which was amazing! Old San Juan was a cluster...lots of traffic but it was a must see! We at at Barrachina which was good and had a Pina Colada...or 2... Got our transfer to the ship at the hotel...left around 12:30...no time at all we were on the ship! It really was a great cruise and the itinerary was awesome!

Excellent Caribbean Cruise by 7DayBro

Sail Date: / Traveled As: Couple

My wife and I had a wonderful time on this ship. My advice to you would be to get lots of sleep before the cruise because their is so much to do that sleep will be hard to come by while on the ship. LOL

Awesome Caribbean Cruise by amonroe10909907

Sail Date: / Traveled As: Singles/Friends

This was my 11 th cruise and my 6th cruise with Royal Caribbean. It was one of my very best cruise experiences. Lovely ship. Had the most awesome weather 80s and sunny for a whole week. Great ports of call. I did not have a bad meal the whole trip. Windjammer(the buffet restaurant) has really improved the quality and selection of food. The mexican specialty restaurant was worth the extra $25 per person. I will definitely sail with Royal Caribbean again.

Wow what a great time... by piriateflagislandgirl

Sail Date: /

Wow what a great time on this cruise. 1st time on the freedom of the seas. And I have to say I really loved it alot. I have done the southern Caribbean 5 years in a row and love it. Truly the best ports and islands in Caribbean. For being on the adventure of the seas 4 times. It was really easy for me to get around the ship. Now let's talk about the ship. The staff was amazing and alot of fun to be around and great to be apart of. The activities where alot to do on the ship. The bars on the ship where really great. Cameron was the best bartender, we went to him every time. The other bar staff was great to. We spent time in the on air club for karaoke and other trivia games they had was alot of fun. Course the quest is always a blast to do and battle of the sexes. The food on the ship was amazing every night in the main dining room. Loved the formal nights and the other nights for dinner where so amazing. My only thing I did not like and it's just me .I'm more old school. I love to dress up.for dinner and dress business casual other times like pants and island shirts . But If royal Caribbean says no shorts in mdr then there should be no shorts in mdr. I saw several wear shorts there for dinner I'm not into that . That's there policy and should be held to that. But it's just me.we had dinner at chops grille it was a great time and food was great. The seafood platter I got wow was very excellent. Steak was good. It's just a better upscale steak than in mdr. The ports we stopped at where so amazing and beautiful. We did see some hurricane damage from last year in st. Marteen. But all in all was still a great time. I did not do any shows in main theater. Only ones we did was love and marriage show to support only of my friends I met on there honeymoon. This was a great trip on an amazing ship and met alot of great friends. Love royal Caribbean they really are the best.. and I booked another one for next July on freedom of the seas doing the Aruba route. So ready for next cruise. I'd highly recommend this cruise and this ship to anyone. Love it

The southern Caribbean cruise from... by Didi02

Sail Date: /

The southern Caribbean cruise from San Juan PR was excellent!!! The ports we visited were abosolutely amazing and the shore excursions were very exciting. My favorite island was St. Kitts!!! The adventure ocean program for kids was great for when us adults needed to get away in the evening for some drinks! I had the best vacation in this cruise. The waiters in the restaurants were so attentive and did an excellent job during service!

Amazing vacation with my Family at the BEST Cruise by bathbedboutique

Sail Date: / Traveled As: Family (young children)

We had the best experienced! Our room was amazing and service was always on point. Ship was amazing with lots of activities and the crew was great. Our dinner experience was the best part... not only food was always good, our Waiter Sean and Assistant Waiter Vivienne were amazing!!! So complacent with us at all points, they really made the experience to be in another level... the highest ever!!

Had a fantastic time on... by yailuv2cruise

Sail Date: /

Had a fantastic time on FOS! Ship was clean, crew was friendly and attentive, food was great and drinks excellent. Shows not the greatest especially in comparison to the larger ships, but that certainly didn’t diminish what a great time we had. Met some really wonderful people, both crew and guests! Will sail on FOS again!

Had a really great time... by nybrianr

Sail Date: /

Had a really great time with my family last week...There is nothing better than getting away on a cruise! The food was delicious, the service was great, and the ship was beautiful. Special shout out to Bernard Peji...the best Stateroom Attendant! The islands on the itinerary were great. We did the Rhino Riders in St. Maarten (So much fun with our 8 and 10 year olds!) We did a half day catamaran trip with snorkeling in St. Kitts through Blue Water Safaris that we booked on TripAdvisor. So fun and relaxing. We saw sea turtles, stingrays, a barracuda, and tons of colorful fish. Highly recommend! We did a beach day at Jolly Beach in Antigua and The Boatyard in Barbados...very relaxing! Make sure to catch music with Jack Wallis at The Bull & Bear each night...and get a drink with Simona. Grab a cocktail from Daniel at Olive and Twist...he is a great mixologist! (Try the Blood Orange Negroni!) Enjoy the time off work...put the phone in Airplane mode and forget the Voom...relax with your family and friends and have a blast. Till next time...Cheers!

Fantastic!! by Paula5245

Sail Date: / Traveled As: Couple

We really enjoyed our cruise! We typically cruise once a year (sometimes twice) generally in September or October. We've been on Freedom 3 times now and generally is a great ship but showing some age. The bar service at the pool is lacking somewhat as well. We sailed Harmony of the Seas last year and love it! Will plan to do that again for sure. Overall we love RCI and don't sail with anyone else.
