Review summary

This was my first RC cruise but won't be my last. Things are different here than other cruise lines including more fees. Gratuity is not only charged per person per day but additionally for items such as "towel check in/towel check out" even though those are not advertised. We enjoyed the cruise overall. We missed the food when we left! That says a lot. There was no birthday greeting at check-in or anything special in the room. That was disappointing. Luggage fiasco at embarkation without a real apology or answer. We also had intermittent plumbing issues! 3.5/5 for these reasons.

Hmmm no gratuity charge for towels on any RC cruise we’ve been on. We always do prepaid and they spilt it up between all services. Of course we tip on our own also as we see fit. I’m glad your overall cruise experience was good. We love Royal.

You get charged a deposit when you take a towel, but the fee is removed once you return it. Also, no one will say anything about your birthday unless you tell them.

Thank you for your review. Sorry to hear about your luggage issue, but most importantly, sorry they missed your birthday!! In my experience, when booking thru agents or travel partners & even on board the cruise ship (NCL) ask “What are you celebrating” & once onboard the staff fulfills celebration w/ either birthday cake or special acknowledgment in your cabin. So that said, HAPPY BIRTHDAY 🎂🤩🥳‼️ it’s never too late to celebrate “a brand new year”. Never been on RC so your review points are duly noted. Happy cruising 😎⚓️🤩❣️‼️
