- Pool areas - towels, dirty dishes left for long, long, period of times. Bar tenders were hard to find around any of the pool areas.  Ice cream areas "Sprinkles" were not kept clean, and why in the world is it called Sprinkles when there are no Sprinkles - very miss leading, ask any child.

- Bar tenders in the majority of the on board bars must rather be someplace else, not very friendly and attentive with customers.

- Our room  was kept clean, but only we only had the animal shaped towels in our room on one of the nights.  It has become a very cute and sweet tradition on a cruise, it was missed.

Our late night family experience was exceptional as far as the excellent food and the service from the staff was superior.

The entertainment including the game shows were so much fun and enjoyed by all of us in our group.   The entertainment director/host and his staff were all wonderful.

- Are biggest disappointment was from the assistance from "Cruises Only" and the poor planning we received.  We were told that seating arrangement for our group was all taken care and we would be seated together. We were not seated together  and it was stressed and requested more than once.  Communication with our group leader that made the arrangement with Cruises Only was not kept informed which caused disappointments and additional cost to some of our cruise members, and this would not of happened if the group leader would have been kept informed.  Another incident - It was our group leader who found a better deal on line for one of our family members with 3 kids rather than Cruises Only which resulted in a large savings to that family by her instead of Cruises Only offering or searching for the best deal for it's customers.  All in all we were very disappointed in Cruises Only.

Accommodating Staff and Wonderful Service, Fantastic Food, Lots of Activities by kroner24

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The service and STAFF were fantastic as always.  You truly feel like royalty when you cruise on RC (not that I need to, but it sure feels wonderful).  The food was fantastic, and the restaurants and cafes were excellent.  My only complaint is that the ports are so over commercialized, and there were no men's sunglasses to purchase on board the ship, and only men's baseball styled hats on board the ship (no bucket hats to help with unexpected sunburns).  When we were late for our excursion, the staff reimbursed us, and found us a new one.  I was not expecting that, but was thrilled.  It turned a bad turn of events into a memorable day.  Wonderful time.  Highly recommend this cruise line.  No stupid activities either like drinking yards of beer.  Very family friendly and suitable.

Spring break with Grandson by dcbeggs

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We picked this cruise because of all the amenities for our grandson.  Cabin attendant was great and responsive to our needs.  the My Time Dining was slightly confusing because they continually asked us to make reservations days in advance.  We never had a bad experience in dining.  The choice of food was not as selective as other cruise lines.  There was only a two course menu.  We often order two from the first selections.  Roperto really took care of our grandson with extra food.

We felt that the excursion talks were very poor.  Almost no extensive information about the countries and the excursions. No real understanding of where you were going and all the excursions were not discussed at the meetings.

Shopping guide Ian was great and had several extra informational meetings. It was a change that the Windjammer was closed between 3 and 5.  Enjoyed the coffee and pastries on deck five.

Very comfortable cruise.  The new terminal one in Port Canaveral is great and the staff was excellent for embarkation and disembarkation.

Freedom of the Seas is a great ship and you never feel like there are over 4,000 people on board.  The shows were beyond excellent. Singers, dancers, and costumes were outstanding.  Ice show was unbelievable. Acrobatic couples were most enjoyable.

it was a great time, but missed alot of shows because we ate dinner at 8:00 and shows where at 7 and 9pm, would be nice if shows where during the day. Food was good but could have been a little better. Also food in windjammer could have been upgraded. Accommodations where good, but nothing extra for return customers. All in all we had a good time.

!!!Dont buy a watch from the on-board jewelry shop!!! by toddc336

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I bought a watch for $1299 USD (retail was supposedly $3600) at the watch sale. Due to Royal Caribbean charging outrageously priced wireless fees ($140 USD). I had no way of checking prices, but assumed it would be less then back home. Boy was I wrong! I can pick up the same watch for half the price (approx. $650 USD).

Other than that, we did enjoy the cruise and the ports that were visited, but not as much as other cruises that I have been on.

I was disappointed that we never got a chance to try out the "flowrider", a highlighted specialty of this ship which allows you to experience surfing/body surf without the dangers.. It was either not running (a lot of the time) or it was booked up.

Food was good, although you had to puchase a "beverage" package - we bought a nonalcoholic one for $150USD and a soda one for $50USD. - if they give you the chance to pick from 3 offers ($75 on-board credit, free beverage package, i dont recall the third option) I recommend checking into the beverage package. The last time I cruised was years ago and soft drinks, water, coffee etc was included, I assumed this was the case and got stung again.

I felt like I was being "nickled and dimmed" every chance they got (beverage packages, wireless charges, automatic gratuities).

Freedom of the Seas Review March 1-8, 2015 by jconant10

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We had a wonderful time. The ship was beautiful, the food was excellent and the staff was superb!!

We particularly enjoyed the evening entertainment in the theatre along with some of the clubs like

the On Air. We also enjoyed some of the contests we witnessed by the pool such as the most

sexiest man contest. We thought that our shore excursion on Grand Cayman Island was the best but

Labadee was a very close second.

Warming up in the Caribbean! by mnhinton442

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

It was a great week to be in the Caribbean on Freedom of the Seas!  We enjoyed each port of call and the overall cruise.  Labadee, Haiti was beautiful.  I especially enjoyed the handmade items available here.  Falmouth, Jamaica found us on the Good Hope Estate shore excursion.  It was a lovely day, even with the rain.  Grand Cayman was fun to walk around.  Cozumel, Mexico was lots of fun.  We went on the Mayan ruins shore excursion.  The stop on the Atlantic to see the seven colors of the sea was gorgeous! Throughout the week we enjoyed the ship and all of it's amenities.  The size of the Royal Promenade was amazing!  Overall it was a relaxing, fun week.

Organized, relaxing, and So-So by mizdw

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This was my first experience on Royal Caribbean. I have cruised approximately 10 times on two other cruise lines.  Prior to my trip, I went online to read the latest reviews on The Freedom Of The Seas.  I don't think I read one positive review and it made me quite worried. A common complaint was the unorginazation at check in and the long lines at the soda machines. I never found either one of these complaints to be true. Check in was a breeze. We waited less than 10 minutes for our group number to be called to board the ship. I never saw a line at the soda machine for those who purchased the soda package.   Overall, I found nothing spectacular to set this cruise line over any of the others I have cruised. The dining room food was adequate to poor.  In fact, we chose to eat in the Windjammer three nights over the dining room as the food selection was more appealing and a wider variety.  The service in the dinning room was poor.....probably the worst I have ever experienced.   The pool crew weren't as friendly as we've had in the past. We did enjoy the entertainment and never found the elevator lines to be a problem.  Yes, there were times we had to wait, but for only a minute for the next elevator to arrive. We ate at Johnny Rockets one night. It was a wonderful experience. The Promenade floor was lovely......shops, Ben and Jerry's, Sorrento's Pizza, and the Promenade Cafe.   I would cruise this same itinerary again as St Thomas and St Maarten were beautiful.

Nice but could have been better! by crazycatlady200

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

My husband and I have been on several cruises now-up till this one on Carnival.  We believed that RCL would be a step up in the cruising world, but we were disappointed to learn it really wasn't.  The people were good-but they were on Carnival as well (the cruise director was awesome).  We thought Carnival had more shows (higher quality) and more movies-just more activities than RCL.

The food was good, but Carnivals was better.  The last night in dining room was a big disappointment-they even had turkey as an entree!  Where's the fish and other goodies that you don't make at home.  Johnny Rockets was good but we were charged extra fee by waiter who suggested milk shake to go...we had no idea that would make it $4.50 extra on top of the flat rate all you want meal plan!~  Desserts were OK but better on Carnival (except for carrot cake-wished they had that 7 nights!)

The ship is lovely-we like the Promenade and the two food places there.

We are going to try Holland America, but so far will go back to Carnival to save money and get a better overall cruise.

Good, but not as good as expected. by Duckyonthesea

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple

Food selection at the Wind Jammer not as good as other Royal Caribbean cruises we have been on.  Music was much to loud.  Crew service was very good through out.  Entertainment was fair...some good but some not so good.

Wonderful Cruise! by Harmonizer2003

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

My husband and I just went on this cruise and had a BLAST! There was so much to do on the ship. They have just remodeled some parts apparently and it felt new! The food was great, service was great and fellow cruisers were great too! The ship was big enough and there was enough going on that it never felt crowded. Will DEFINITELY be traveling on Royal Caribbean!

My cruise by toychil

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I had to rate my cruise has a good experience because I would not let me tell you how I feel about my cruise, it was BAD not at all what the say that it is, they lied to us about the ship not running the way that it is supposed to, they changed our port times because of the way that the ship was running, they knew it the week before our cruise and they did NOT contact us and give us a choice to rebook our cruise to a better time when the ship was running the way that it should have been! they  told me TWO different times that I ask if there was any problems with the ship and BOTH  times I was told oh no there is nothing wrong with the ship, did not know that they had changed things until we where on the ship! that is not the way that they should treat people! but you know what I have been told SORRY  but we are NOT going to give to anything for your cruise not going the way that it was suppose to, so I will do anything and everything to tell people to NEVER book with them,  I do hope that they lose a lot of business the way that they are treating the people that where on the cruise.  Thank you for listening

Very relaxing cruise. by mykentuckyhome

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I enjoyed this cruise.  It was very relaxing.  The ship was very clean and continued cleanliness was emphasized by the staff at all times.   The staff was very accommodating.

Time in ports of call was shortened because 1 of 3 propeller pods was not functioning.  In addition to that there was a medical emergency that required us to return to our 3rd port, which resulted in missing the 4th port, due to our inability to run at full speed.   Despite these set backs, the cruise was still enjoyable, if you were content with just relaxing onboard.  Our cabin unfortunately was next to an elevator shaft for staff members and it needed servicing.  It was difficult to sleep the first 3 nights of the cruise because of the banging and dragging sounds of the cables, but it improved by the end of the cruise.  The ship is going into dry dock in January for repair, so I'm sure it will be in much better condition in early 2015.

The Broadway type shows were very good.  However, I did not appreciate the negative demeanor and at times vulgarity of the comedian acts, especially when one particular comedian continued to insult children while aware of their being in the audience.

Freedom of the Seas is a beautiful ship and has many activities to keep all ages satisfied.

Favorites from this trip were:  Ice show, Boogie boarding/surfing, great dinners in the diningroom, big screen movie by the pool, evening shows, Dreamworks parade.

still a wonderful ship by cruisejunky

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was our 4th cruise on Freedom of the Seas and it continues to be a wonderful cruise. The shows were great, especially the ice show and the dining room service (Liz Lopes assistant server and Allen Mabatten server) was outstanding. This cruise only gets a 4 star rating because some things seemed to be a half step off from the norm. The cabin attendant was less than great. There seemed to be a lack of enthusiasm in  the cleaning process and in being available for any issues. There seemed to be a considerable delay in the disembarkation process and we were not able to get the requested disembarkation time requested. Overall we still recommend the Freedom of the Sea cruises and plan on doing it again soon.

Mechanical Issues by marki113

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Freedom of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship had mechanical issue that reduced the it's top speed.  These problems caused us to have shorten port of calls and this contributed to our Cozumel poet of call to be canceled.  Overall we were satisfied with the cruise but would not rate it as one of our best.
