Review summary

We had a good time even in spite of my mobility issues. Get great souvenir discounts when you sail the 2nd to the last sailing of the season. got a $4000 fur blanket for $1600… a “hand down as a family heirloom” type thing. We are talking about taking an inland passage next time.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
I have COPD so 50 ft and I need to stop and rest, but got wheelchair embarkation and that worked great.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
We enjoyed the Tamirand, but didn’t like the service or some of the food at the Pinnacle grill. The dining rooms were fine. Service was always great but the poor service workers seemed WAY too overworked. I felt very sorry for them.

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
There so called activities sucked. NO MORE LINCOLN Center which is the one reason that we booked Holland. And how to fold an origami crab is not my idea of entertain or activity since we are still cruising and not in a nursing home.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Went to a lecture, watched some dancing… I keep telling the entertainment director if they would just put a little dialog story along with their singing and dancing people would want to watch more. I went to B&B and it is too small. Had to listen to two back to back same comedian do his same gig, before they put B&B on… so only got to hear 2 songs before I was exhausted.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The poor people are way over worked, but always tried their hardest to do their best!

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The music venue is a mess. B&B is way too small. The hallway to the piano players have slot machines on one side. I found everything easily and liked that our room was right next to the elevators and things were still quiet.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Cabin was perfect for us. You do need to bring a long ext cord if you have a cpap though. Few plugs by bed.

Ship tip

Bring ext cords..not surge protectors.

Ports of call

Cruise Puget Sound

3 out of 5
We sat out on our deck for a bit but went inside and watched the launch party. Not much observing the sound.

CRUISE STEPHENS PASSAGE

3 out of 5
Saw our whales here.

Juneau, Alaska

Cruise Glacier Bay

5 out of 5
The glaciers are looking less glamourous than a decade ago. In Sept is the only time your end goal is John Hopkins glacier. We watched the other 2 glaciers go by and just as we were approaching… it was my (before cruise hair appointment). I grumbled about leaving but it turned out that the windows out of the beauty shop was wrap about front view of the glacier. A real luck out.

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska

1 out of 5
It was raining cats and dogs during this day. We couldnt even see out the window while we ate in the Tamirand.

Sitka, Alaska

2 out of 5
It’s just a city. We took a bus, walked to a restaurant had a bite to eat and came back.

Ketchikan, Alaska

5 out of 5
This is the most quaint city on the docket. It has character. Saw the lumber jack show…but it is hard to get into what seems such a canned presentation.

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Great once you found your wheel chair spot and got on the list. Not as functional when all times show up and crowd the area.

Traveler Photos

Cute towel elephant Glacier Bay John Hopkins glacier right outside my hair appointment Right off the ship. Eurodam stops at the closest point.
