Overall, we enjoyed our cruise. The highlight of the trip was the breathtaking views at each port and the perfect weather we experienced. The ship was clean and well maintained. The service was adequate, except for the cabin stewards, who were exceptional! The food was so-so. Our biggest disappointment was the cabin space for 4 adults : ( We enjoyed the entertainment, the BB King group, especially, the lead female singer. We were a group of nine family members and we thoroughly enjoyed our time together on this cruise. The photographers on board took some great pictures. However, selling each digital print for $19.99 is a bit expensive. Two hundred dollars for 10 pictures, seriously...........
Embarkation
5 out of 5
This was, by far, the best embarkation experience. Everything was very well organized.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
There were long lines and limited selections in the Lido deck. Most of the food was average. The Main Dining Room offered smaller portions, and slightly tastier selections. The service was good.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Very small selection of activities available. The activities offered on this ship were not enticing. Some of the fitness sessions were interesting, but high pressure to purchase services or products.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
The main stage performances were okay. We enjoyed the magician more than the comedian. We were expecting more Vegas style shows. The BillBoard entertainment was good. But our favorite was The BB King Group. They were so talented and entertaining. We thoroughly enjoyed the music and dancing. The lead female singer was phenomenal!
Children's Programs
Adults only, no chidren
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
The room stewards were exceptional. They greeted us daily, kept our room clean, turned down the beds, and left a nice display of towel animals. The food waiters were personable, kind and attentive. The bar waiters were a little temperamental. Most were not friendly.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
Layout was good. The maps displayed throughout the boat helped us find our way. Common areas and bath rooms were clean and well maintained.
Cabin / Stateroom
1 out of 5
This cabin in not designed for 4 adults. It should have never been sold as a cabin to accommodate 4 people comfortably. The additional bedding was a sofa bed that pulled out across the room, blocking access to the balcony. The second bed was a pull down directly above the main bed. The overhang was low enough for us to bang our heads, especially in the middle of the night. Both beds were very uncomfortable. This information should have been conveyed to us prior to purchasing a cabin. Very disappointing!
Ship tip
Boarding embarkation and debarkation were very efficient. We especially appreciated the port luggage service!
We purchased the hop on/hop off excursion to see the city highlights. It was basically a mode of transportation, and very limited information about the city sights.
We purchased the Whale Watching and Mendenhall Glacier. It was excellent. We captured some great pictures of the whales and glacier. We were slightly disappointed with the extent of the glacier tour. There was a waterfall nearby that could have easily been included in the tour.
No excursion. The park rangers were an added plus with great information and spotting wildlife for the group. The decks were a bit crowded, but provided a good view. It would have been a nice perk to supply stationary viewing scopes for complimentary viewing on deck. Also, complimentary cocoa would be a nice touch, especially on cold days!
We purchased the tour for Totem Park and the Lumberjack show. Disappointed with the Totem Park tour. The guide did not provide a lot of information on the stories behind the poles. The Lumberjack show was entertaining. We really enjoyed it!
Not sure if this was your first cruise, but I would never consider trying to stay 4 to a regular cabin on a cruise unless 2 were children under 12. The rooms are not designed for 4 adults. There are numerous photos on this and other sites, including the cruise line websites, of the rooms, so you should have been aware of the size.
