Review summary

The most amazing thing was Glacier Bay! The Captain rotated the boat so we could get a view of all sides of the bay. It was glorious. The service was very good. The food was well presented. The entertainment was fabulous! We especially enjoyed the musical shows, piano bar, and BB King's blues show! Also the Lincoln Center had some really world class excellent musicians.

Cabin / Stateroom

Nice bathtub! Good amount of closet space and storage. Loved the verandah!

Ship tip

It is not the newest ship, a bit smaller than some, definitely the "older crowd". But the friendliness and cleanliness of the ship and staff made it very nice.

Ports of call

Seattle, Washington

The waterfront is a mess! The construction has been going on for 2 years. Parking is expensive and impossible. We visited Pike's Place along with about 700,000 other people. Hard to enjoy when it is so crowded you can't even walk the sidewalk without obstruction.

Juneau, Alaska Did not visit port

Sitka, Alaska

A small town with a lot of history. No excursion, walked the town shops and coffee bar. Visited the Pioneer home and Cathedral.

Ketchikan, Alaska

The best shops, nice port of call. We rode the duck tour. Not much leg room, so it felt cramped, but a nice tour operator.

Victoria, British Columbia

Unlike the Alaskan towns, they do not exist to serve the cruise industry, they have their own robust economy so do not necessarily cater to the cruise passengers, but were very friendly. We had to walk quite a ways to find the double decker bus tour, which you could not even hop on or off. It was the most inconvenient place to get around, unless you were willing to hire a private limo. I wish we could have been in port longer than the 5 hours allotted. It was not enough time to enjoy the gardens and such because it got very dark. AND the shops and restaurants on fisherman's wharf closed up on a Friday evening too early! We wanted to get some fish and chips, but were forced to just get back on the ship early after taking a cab to the wharf only to find it closed!
