Review summary

I really enjoyed this trip on the Eurodam going to the ports of Juneau, Sitka, and Ketchikan Alaska. And Glacier Bay was spectacular besides the glacier we saw bears and otters. And from the ship when at sea we saw whales and otters, while in Sitka we saw eagles.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
The embarkation process was very smooth, the waiting lines were short and moved swiftly.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Ate primarily in the main dining room for breakfast and lunch. The food was very good with one exception. The soups at dinner consisted of items for flavor of soup placed at bottom of bowl, and soup broth poured over the top. The soup did not pick-up the flavors so every soup tasted the same, the broth was the same.

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
Did not do any of the physical or fitness activities, so have no real opinion.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The entertainment was a lot of good fun. Enjoyed the entertainers: the All Stars in the B B King and the dual piano players in the Queen's bar. And really enjoyed Ask the Captain which was informative and funny, and I thought it would be a waste of time, it wasn't.

Children's Programs

No children in our party.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
This was my third cruise on Holland America Line. And the service, helpfulness and friendliness of all the ships personnel was as wonderful on this cruise as the previous two.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
I like these smaller ships, they are easier to move around in, and are well designed and decorated, giving the guest a feeling they are living in luxury. And they are always working to keep it clean and functioning.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
For two people there is enough room to be comfortable, but anymore would be a little tight. The stewards always do a great job cleaning the room.

Ship tip

Relax, sit back and enjoy being spoiled and pampered.

Ports of call

Seattle, Washington Did not visit port

I am from this area so there was no need to visit Seattle prior to embarkment.

Juneau, Alaska

5 out of 5
In Juneau we had an excursion the Mendenhall Glacier, which was really great to see. Couldn't complete the walk out to waterfall, it was further than I thought. In Juneau we did take tram to top of Mt. Roberts which is always a great view, the fog even cleared out for taking pictures.

Sitka, Alaska

5 out of 5
Did not do any excursions here, but went to the Visitors Center, the New Archangel show, the museum, and the Bishops House, I love Sitka. Forgot the Fish Hatchery the salmon were in the harbor and the hatchery, they were jumping everywhere.

Ketchikan, Alaska

5 out of 5
Did not do any excursions in Ketchikan, but had fun shopping, and was able to find the rest of the souvenir's I wanted to purchase.

Victoria, British Columbia Did not visit port

Stayed on the ship because it was night time there and on-shore time was not very long.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
It was great again no long lines to wait in to get off ship or out of terminal, the process was very smooth.
