A rainy cruise is still better than sitting in traffic on my way to work. by reverhart

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

If this had been our first cruise, we probably would not have decided to cruise again. The weather kept us from doing all that we wanted(Not the fault or Royal Caribbean), so we may carefully consider cruising again in October. Our experience on the Jewel of the Seas was better, but we will probably choose larger ships whenever possible.

Bad weather cruise by DouglasWalls

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)

I know that you cannot control the weather but this will cause us to reconsider taking a cruise for our vacation. At least there was good food and entertainment in the theater.

Weekend Trip by chrystalann80

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

We had a great time except that the liquor bottles were watered down. The food was ok but we did have a few disappointments during dinner. Overcooked steak, undercooked scallops, & low quality filet that seemed more like a sirloin. Despite all that we did enjoy ourselves

Recent cruise on Enchantment of the seas by Cruiser17510150

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Overall the cruise was excellent. The beach party at Cococay was excellent. I wish we had more days at Cococay. Also the Bahamas was good. However, it was not as exciting as Cococay.

Overall good / ok cruise - Nice room, great job getting people on and off the ship, Cococay was great. Need entertainment (Music) around the pool areas on the ship. Would skip Nassau and Freeport if I went back.

Never again by kmkarban

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

With documented evidence of a monster hurricane incoming, this cruise should have never left port. While docked first day in Nassau, news was out that Key West was under mandatory evacuation. We should have immediately returned to Miami but cruise line elected to preserve revenue and remained additional day in Nassau which limited exit options out of Miami in advance of storm. Concern seemed to be to preserve revenue and not safety of passengers. No private island or Key West experience - there should be a refund coming based on inability to deliver all aspects of trip as promised. Will not ever consider this cruise line again and not likely to consider another cruise given how this was handled.

They Cut the Cruise Short With No Refund by jely2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

My wife and I had an awful experience. We decided to go on a Royal Caribbean cruise for our honeymoon and were very excited because this was the first cruise we had ever been on. At first the cruise was pretty decent, the food was delicious, the atmosphere was really nice. However, the service was lacking and the crew was not very friendly. Then, on the second day of our cruise, the captain alerted us that the itinerary needed to be changed in order to prepare for the upcoming hurricane Irma. This change cut the cruise short a full day and cancelled two ports of call. The change itself was understandable considering the impending hurricane. What was not understandable was how Royal Caribbean treated the situation. The PA announcements by the bridge were brief and did not contain much information. When we went to Guest services to see if we would be refunded at all, they assured us that some sort of refund was in the works and that they would be giving everyone free internet so that all guests could make necessary travel plans. They said that we would be updated in about an hour. Well the update never came. The next day, the bridge announced that everyone could make free calls to the US via the phone in each stateroom (this apparently was instead of free wifi). However, offering free phone service was useless because we had no way of finding the phone numbers we needed. The entire crew at this point seemed to realize that most of the guests were unhappy, but instead of rallying to provide the best service, they instead became unconcerned with how the guests were doing and began performing their jobs apathetically. The entire atmosphere of the ship changed and everyone was miserable. On the last day my wife and I went back to guest services to check on the status of any refund. While in line, we overheard a manager heatedly debating with a customer who was also upset. The customer was asking about a refund as well, and the manager stated loudly to "check your contract, we don't owe you anything." upon seeing how rudely a manager was handling the situation, we left the line. We realized that Royal Caribbean's attitude was one of "Well, we have you money already, so it sucks to be you". When we got to our room we found the summary of charges to our account. We noticed that we had been refunded an amount for each port of call that was skipped, however the amount was negligible (about 16$ for each port). This action felt like a slap in the face. It felt as if Royal Caribbean had refunded the absolute smallest amount possible in order to appease the guests. Obviously, we were not appeased. The entire cruise was a huge disappointment. My wife and i had planned numerous activities in the cancelled ports of call that we were unable to enjoy, and instead of being refunded a reasonable amount so that we could find other activities on our own and salvage our honeymoon, we felt spit on. We spent an extraordinary amount of money thinking that this would be a once in a lifetime opportunity, and Royal Caribbean made a disaster out of it. We hope that someone will read this and attempt to rectify the situation, because as it stands we will never sail with RC again.

Cruise shortened; missed 2 of 3 Ports of Call by paulazdz

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

I am extremely disappointed. I wanted to cancel due to the impending storm. Was told it would not be refundable. Went on cruise, but less than 36 hours into the cruise, we learn that both Coco Cay and Key West ports of call would be cancelled, and we would return to Miami one day only, BUT OFFERRED NO COMPENSATION!!!!! I did not receive what I paid for.

Worst Cruise Trip I Have Ever Been On by xyepez

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Our trip was cut short due to a hurricane. I understand it was policy to cancel the trip, but the WHOLE reason we booked this trip is to visit Cococay island and Key West, not Nassau because we have already been there and we didn't like before. Out trip was cancelled and we waited in Nassau until we went back to Miami and din't port in Cococay or Key West. This was very disappointing and not what we paid for at all. We did not receive any type of refund for our tickets, not even a partial refund for the days we did not spend on the ship or the cancelled ports. I would like get at least a partial refund! I would even accept a credit on a future cruise. This is the first time we cruised we Royal Caribbean and it will be the last time if there is no type of compensation!

We had an awesome time, it was my husband 1st time, and he had an amazing time. He's already to plan for next year. We would be well prepared for the unaware fees too that we experienced on the cruise. However, overall amazing time.

My First Cruise & Definitely Not My Last!! by ckuchnicki

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This was my first cruise, but it won't be my last. I hope to cruise on another Royal Caribbean ship soon! If the staff on other cruise lines are as good as they were on Royal Caribbean, I'll be impressed! Service was 5 stars all around! This crew knew how to do it, and they were all smiles and relaxed. They made you feel that island spirit the moment you boarded. The Enchantment Of The Seas is an impressive ship! The Centrum (atrium lobby) was quite impressive. I just couldn't get over how smoothly we floated across the ocean. I didn't get sea sick AT ALL, but we did have nothing but smooth days. I loved how the ship was laid out!

Excellent quick gettaway by hendersons9

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Enchantment of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

Time away with family is always wonderful. While this ship is smaller than the ones I have cruised on Royal before, it still offered enough time of activities and time of getting away in quiet time together without noise. Of course, CocoCay is amazing - beautiful beach and water for snorkeling.

I'll be going with Disney or Carnival next time. This was my third and last time cruising aboard a Royal Caribbean ship. I have cruise on Grandeur and splendor but enchantment was disappointing.
