Irma spoiled our itinerary but not our anniversary
Embarkation
5 out of 5
This being our first cruise, we had no idea what to expect. That said, we never stood in a line. We spent more time walking than we did waiting. No more than 10 minutes from curbside to ship deck.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
We began with an excellent embarkation lunch at Chops Grille. I still crave the wild mushroom soup. The food and service were so great that we booked a dinner there for the second night as well. (Sadly, that dinner was interrupted and subsequently ruined by the captain's announcement that Hurricane Irma would be significantly impacting the remainder of our cruise.) Anyway, smaller ships don't have the luxury of multiple specialty dining venues, and so have to do one or two well. Enchantment does its one very well indeed.
My Fair Lady MDR was fine, as was the service. I serendipitously sat us at the wrong table, coincidentally seating us with two ladies from our hometown area. (Luckily for us, the original tablemates never appeared.)
The layout of the Windjammer buffet is less than ideal. I found it not to be conducive to people flow. The food was typical for a buffet.
Windjammer Cafe

Food was okay; typical buffet fare. Not good people flow.

Friendly baristas who actually remember your name.
Chop's Grille

Fantastic! Service and food were excellent. I still crave the wild mushroom soup.
Boleros Lounge

Excellent drinks. Nice place to relax.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
We loved the trivia and karaoke, especially. The activity staff seem to get to know passengers better during these activities on the smaller ships, which makes for a more memorable experience for me.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
While we didn't see a main theater show, I greatly enjoyed the piano singer and other musicians and entertainers.
Centrum
5 out of 5
Could get crowded at times, but great central point.
Children's Programs
This was a 10th anniversary cruise, without our children.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Room steward and waiters were excellent. All the crew appeared to take great pride in the ship.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Grading on a curve here, given the age of the ship. She is excellently maintained, easy to navigate, and has ample, comfortable space in public areas.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Plenty of space for two people. Comfortable bed. Extra overhang provides a bit more shade. Room is beneath a lido deck bar, which yields some conversational noise on the balcony furing the day, but was not an issue at night.
Ship tip
Join the roll calls. The Enchantment has a loyal following, and you are sure to meet some of them.
Disembarkation was managed horribly. It was so bad that we made the national news, and I had people asking me on social media why they were seeing me on TV. Yes, we were back slightly (i.e. hours) early due to a hurricane, but it seemed like they didn't know how to disembark.
