Review summary

Our trip was cut short due to a hurricane. I understand it was policy to cancel the trip, but the WHOLE reason we booked this trip is to visit Cococay island and Key West, not Nassau because we have already been there and we didn't like before. Out trip was cancelled and we waited in Nassau until we went back to Miami and din't port in Cococay or Key West. This was very disappointing and not what we paid for at all. We did not receive any type of refund for our tickets, not even a partial refund for the days we did not spend on the ship or the cancelled ports. I would like get at least a partial refund! I would even accept a credit on a future cruise. This is the first time we cruised we Royal Caribbean and it will be the last time if there is no type of compensation!

Yoh recieved that about because port fees is what we pay to visit the islands not the actual cost or taxes of the cruise

We missed cococay on our trip due to bad weather and received just over 2.00 refund. Not what I was expecting šŸ™„

Port feet could only be about $15 we pay more for food and room and whatever they offer on boats ... its in the fine print

You don't get compensated for missed ports other than the port fees and taxes however as I said before the shortened cruises all received a refund as well as credit for missed days so if you haven't you need to contact the cruiseline or your travel agent.

They usually will at least refund the missed ports (port fees).

Every person on a cruise that was shortened by the hurricanes received a refund of the % missed as well as an equal future cruise credit. If you didn't you need to find out why.

Don't book during hurricane season

I was on the Allure in January. The weather was horrible and we missed the private island altogether. It happens. I was really looking forward to a relaxing beach day, but it would have been a bad beach day! The weather is not the fault of the cruise line. They made a new Sea Day itinerary. Iā€™m sure there is fine print somewhere that says they do not have to compensate if the ports are changed or cancelled due to safety concerns.

I understand your disappointment, I would be upset too . In my opinion, Royal should've offered some incentive that would make you want to book with them again. Next time I'd book outside of hurricane season and hope you get to visit your scheduled ports. I think we've all been affected by the hurricane with our ports of call, just have to chalk it up and enjoy the people you travel and meet and the memories you make while away.
