Review summary

We had a wonderful relaxing cruise. Didn’t like Marseille and were a little disappointed in Gibraltar - I was expecting it to be more ‘British’. I wouldn’t do the Barcelona to Rome portion again, but I would definitely do the Greek Isles and Kotor again.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarkation was very quick and smooth.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The menus and food did not disappoint - we ate in the main dining rooms most evenings, at Catch by Rudi one night, and in the buffet one night. The buffet is never my favorite and we only ate there for convenience. Catch by Rudi menu and food were excellent.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Only used the pools and sun decks. There was an adequate number of sun loungers but would have been better if people had not been saving them. We saw some people who have about five in the sun and five in the shade! Very selfish!

Entertainment

5 out of 5
We only watch two of the productions and they were both very good!

Children's Programs

No children.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Very friendly staff who made an exceptional effort to get to know us.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
I am not a fan of the Sky suites. They take away a lot of space from those who want to relax watching the moving or just snoozing and catching some rays. I much prefer the Royal and the Regal.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
I was a little worried about how small the cabin was, but we managed two weeks in there easily. We are quite tidy people, thankfully!

Ship tip

Don’t forget the dining room is open for breakfast - many people seemed to think their only option was the buffet.

Another option for breakfast is the International Cafe which has some very nice breakfast sandwiches - great for an early before excursion breakfast. Actually, we think the buffet offers a better breakfast than the MDR. Eventhough you have to get your own breakfast, the selection is much better and you can get several types of eggs made to order incuding omelets, over easy, and eggs benedicts. There are also more choices for sides and pastries and the food is just as hot as it is after waiting for it to be delivered in the MDR. While we like to be served and have dinner at a slower pace in the MDR vs. the buffet, we enjoy the atmosphere in the buffet for breakfast. It's good for people watching also.
