The attention to detail was exceptional by the Princess staff and crew. by ForrestO

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Emerald Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

The cruise was fantastic, I would like to see a clean and easy way to determine the cost of the cruise. To many hidden and option that make tracking what the final fee is.

Fun times, Average Ship by mmc1578

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Emerald Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Regrets: I wish we'd gone farther north into the northwest area of Alaska. That would have been a longer cruise but would have been very cool. I would also possibly do a land tour up there. We didn't see any glaciers up close, so that was a bummer. we could have and should have done a helicopter tour to a glacier but some in our party weren't up for that, and it was quite expensive. Surprises: We had amazing weather! It was quite warm and really beautiful. A huge boat can feel very claustrophobic. Spend as much time outside as you can.

Emerald Princess Tracy Arm Fjord by Waynelson

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Emerald Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

After taking the Glacier Bay cruise this trip was somewhat of a disappointment. My recommendation would be to buy as many excursions as your budget can handle. Tracy Arm Fjord was a disappointment.

The hype was wrong! by retired1894

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Emerald Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

If you do not like seafood do not book travel on this ship to Alaska, Greater than 90% of menu items, breakfast, lunch , dinner and buffet consisted of one or more seafood items. For the most part buffet items had a taste of a bad left over Limited entertainment. The Emerald Princess boasts of new restaurant "Share by Curtis Stone. The service was horrible, the staff rude, discourteous and the food quality poor.

Alaskan Cruise by a first time cruiser! by BayouMom

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Emerald Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Taking a cruise to Alaska is great because so many places you can only travel by boat or plane. I think I would go with another line with kids. Our ship had babies to older teens with every other age too but not enough to do. I felt like the only entertainment was the pool and in July it was cold and windy to be swimming in my opinion. Really wanted to have more games and activites.

The beauty of Alaska is breathtaking. Everyone should visit and enjoy the gorgeous scenery, cool air and serene vistas. Be sure to get a balcony cabin or oceanview room.

Your ship tracking isn't very... by loriwheeler

Your ship tracking isn't very accurate! I dropped off friends at the ship about an hour ago, while docked in Victoria and your tracking already shows the ship in Seattle! lol

Great weather and scenery! by JLanglandIII

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Emerald Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

The cruise was nice as far as the weather, overly warm for being in Alaska 75-80 degrees every day. I do enjoy days at sea but the last day at sea was two days, that’s too long with nothing but bingo to do on the ship.

Great Fun, What I call a Vacation! by curlytop89

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Emerald Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

This is what I call a vacation. Once we got on the ship we just had to decide what things we wanted to do, or just relax in the room. Beds very comfortable. Loved having the balcony, could leave the door open and listen to the ocean and view wildlife and awesome scenery in Alaska. Our trip was unseasonably warm for Alaska but actually beautiful weather. Fun things to do on the ship, the staff was all super nice. Our cabin steward was great and very helpful. Food was great. We didn't get a drink package as we don't drink THAT much so only water or tea/lemonade with lunch and supper and juice and milk with breakfast, regular coffee at all meals but if you want soda or alcohol you would have to pay. We didn't miss it much. We bought a few drinks and a bottle of wine one night and still didn't spend as much as a drink plan would have cost. If you love soda then you may want to purchase a soft drink package as they give you cans. You can bring on water but only one bottle of wine, the rest they charge you for so no point but that didn't really affect us. We saw whales and sea lions off and on the ship, eagles of course. We didn't see any bears, but we didn't really take any excursions to see bears. I wish the stays in the ports were longer, like from dawn to dusk to get to see more. Getting off and on went smoothly. Shows were good, voice of the ocean fun as well as dance your face off, we had some brave passengers participate in that and it was hilarious and great fun to watch. Clubs open with various types of music. The walker black duo actually was very good and they took requests and you could dance. The skywalkers lounge open late and had a DJ and they had singers in the piazza often. The naturalist on board very knowledgeable and experienced in all things about Alaska Wildlife. I liked the pup lunch for a quit bit at lunch a couple of days and something different. Just great fun all around. Made a few new friends.

Fantastic! by Cactusmom

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Emerald Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

This was our first trip to Alaska & it was everything we hoped for and more. The food, drinks, staff and port excursions were outstanding. My husband needs a gluten free diet & the staff created incredible meals for him. On our last night, they made him 3 desserts, one of which was NY style cheesecake, I highly recommend the Emerald Princess.

Alaska Roundtrip by joe367

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Emerald Princess / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Service and food were excellent. Considering the number of passengers the crew did a fantastic job, customer service is number one. The stops in the ports are short, if you do an excursion you have very little time to explore on your own. Suggest taking an excursion, seeing whats around, and accept that you just have to come back for another land vacation. The Glaciers are amazing, but you can get closer and see and hear them better on a cruise that goes farther north (Voyage of the Glaciers".
